AIT/ Spur Drivers are responsible for safely and accurately deliver and pickup cargo, keep accurate driving log- ELD and for inspect and maintain the company trucks.Work Schedule: Wed - Fri, 4pm-12amResponsibilities:Drive truck to and from specified destinations safely and follow all state, local laws, and DOT regulationsA valid CDL B is required to drive a truck 26,001 lbs. or greaterFocuses on safety and compliance including the real time reporting of any accidents, incidents encountered on the road, monitoring of road conditions and following all applicable traffic lawsHandles general fleet maintenance including appropriate fueling, cleaning of truck, washing of windows, full inspection of truck before and after trip and proactive reporting of any maintenance needsPrepare receipt for load picked up or bill of lading.Maintain driver hours of service using electronics logs and ensures rest periods according to state and federal regulationsMaintains and ensures compliance with DOT and other applicable regulations, including State or Federal regulationsProvides timely communication with supervisor/ manager regarding the status of daily route; including, when stops have been completed, when taking lunch or other brakes, and prior to clocking outEnsures timeliness of client delivery by proactively anticipating any delivery challenges and ensuring timely departureInspect truck equipment and supplies. Ensure time, date, verification, and signature on all freight paperworkPerform emergency roadside repairs, secure cargo with proper equipment; load bars, e-track, and straps during transitMay load and unload truck when not driving the truckMay operate a forklift or pallet jack when not driving the truckDestination may be either Short Haul or Long HaulMaintain a clean work environment and follow safety policiesOther duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessaryThe wage range for this position is $24.23 - $37.63 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.
Qualifications:Experience Qualifications3+ years RequiredSkills and AbilitiesReading and writing English, knowledge of airport codes destinations and basic geography knowledge (Medium proficiency)Must be detail oriented and able to work in fast pace, high volume environment (Medium proficiency)Strong organizational and time management skills (Medium proficiency)participates in safety policies, activities, and implementations (Medium proficiency)Maintain a current Medical Card (High proficiency)Have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) (High proficiency)Must be a TSA-certified truck driver and obtain a STA number upon employment (High proficiency)Must be able to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and road test (High proficiency)No preventable accidents involving a fatality, bodily injuries treated away from the scene, or disabling damage to a motor vehicle within three years (High proficiency)Has no conviction for driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs violation within the past seven (7) years (High proficiency)No positive drug or alcohol results in last 7 years reported to Clearinghouse (High proficiency)General Computer Skills (Medium proficiency)Licenses and CertificationsDL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Must possess a valid drivers license.
