*Description:*Our client is looking for a Network Engineer to support their IT infrastructure and corporate expansion based on the tremendous growth they're experiencing. This involves scalability, performance and security concerns. The Network Engineer plans, designs, and evaluates new and existing computer network systems and services, including local area networks, wide area networks, intranets, and the Internet, providing analytical, technical, and administrative support.Right now they have a large initiative to deploy new Cisco Meraki Switches in their HQ and this will be a big focus for this person. They should have strong command line and Cisco configuration experience. They also need to have experience managing and configuring Palo Alto Firewalls. Candidates should have experience working with Aruba Clear Pass as well. They will be working with cross functional teams and need to be able to effectively communicate with vendors and executives.Previous Engineers in this role have needed to get up to speed on a lot of the technology that they use, and have required extensive coaching to be effective in the role. They need someone that wont require much hand holding and who can hit the ground running as they will be starting during one of our clients busiest times of the year, and they will be spread rather thin. Our client also looks for candidates that want to go above and beyond and value an ownership mentality. Candidates should be excited about the opportunity to make an impact to the overall business and regularly looking for areas they can act as a SME, own something, or make overall improvements.Responsibilities:Evaluate and assess "current state" of LAN/WAN environment and propose roadmap to handle future growthIdentify and implement networking 'best practices' to ensure optimal network performance, availability and scalabilityConfigure and troubleshoot existing network devices including Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Meraki, Cisco Catalyst, VPN, and MPLS (Level 3)Assess current network security posture and implement hardening solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, Identity and Access management.Implements, maintains and troubleshoots the LAN/WAN Infrastructure including; physical cabling, switches, routers, firewalls, and Wi-Fi systemsDeploys and supports new software releases, system upgrades, and patches for the network infrastructure environmentMaintain knowledge of vendor products (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Palo Alto) and solutions that can enable the Network Engineering team to diagnose complex issues, build redundancy and resiliency along with assisting them with planning for the future capacity and technology growth of the networkDevelops and maintains technical procedure documentation and network infrastructure diagrams and reviews projects / systems designs and plans for compliance with standardsProactively work to reduce costs and improve productivity (continuous improvement) for Network Engineering and Support platformsPerform troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizationsEnsure the network architecture addresses high availability and performance of mission critical platforms and network resources with the guidance of Sr. Network EngineersIdentify opportunities and for improvement in efficiency and responsiveness. Make recommendations and champion implementations that gain efficiencies and improve effectiveness.Understand the needs of various business functions and end users, and the priorities of information security and management and define solutions to support theseAssists as needed with any IT related projects as determined by IT ManagementRespond to off-hour alerts, calls, e-mails or notifications to ensure operational efficiency and uptimeDesign, implement and maintain a US based retail and global network infrastructureMonitor and administer carrier diverse circuits utilizing BGP for fault toleranceQualifications and Attributes:At least 4 years of experience specifically maintaining enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure - Wireless, Firewalls, Routers Switches, ControllersAt least 2 years of experience of Networking technologies including SD-WAN, MPLS, VRF, DMVPN, multicast, load balancing, switching and routing technologiesKnowledge and experience of Network security constructs and capabilities including Layer 3 and Layer 7 firewalls, IPS, VPN, and ProxyKnowledge and experience of hosting technologies including: Hyper-converged infrastructure, Converged Infrastructure, VMware virtualization, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and Windows Server OSKnowledge and experience with supporting infrastructure service technologies including Active Directory, AzureAD, DNS, DHCP, NTP, file and printing servicesExperience with developing scripts to automate infrastructure deployment and metrics collectionExperience with various tools such as Protocol Analyzer, SNMP, Netflow, IPAM, RADIUS, Insight IDR/Splunk, and load/stress testingExpertise in Azure or other cloud providing technologiesDirect experience with Palo Alto, Aruba, and Meraki is a plusExperience documenting network knowledge base and operational runbooksExperience deploying SD-WAN infrastructure is a plusKnowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocolsAbility to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systemsProvides specific detailed information for hardware and software selectionAbility to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resourcesAbility to think through problems and visualize solutionsTeam player with the ability to work with all levels of staff within/outside of IT and outside the organizationA self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environmentGood analytical and problem-solving skills*Skills:*Firewall, Router, Cisco switches, routers and switches, Troubleshooting, meraki, cisco meraki, Cisco Catalyst, paloalto, network security, network engineering, firewall management, cisco routers*Top Skills Details:*Firewall,Router,Cisco switches,routers and switches,Troubleshooting,meraki,cisco meraki,Cisco Catalyst,paloalto*Additional Skills & Qualifications:*None*Experience Level:*Expert LevelEligibilityrequirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classificationand length of employment.
