Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Estimator ! Gpac, a 30+ year-old recruitment company, is partnered with a well-established company in the Mechanical industry. This is your chance to join a team that values both exceptional service and a friendly working environment.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for appropriately evaluating the cost of mechanical systems in projects and evaluating the cost and schedule required to perform a project. The candidate will become familiar with our competitive advantages as an organization and will be able to communicate those to our benefit throughout the bidding process.
REQUIREMENTS:Ability to manage mechanical bid process including general conditions, HVAC, process piping and ducting, millwrighting, and structural steelPerform cost comparison and analysisRecruit and maintain relationships with quality reliable trade contractors, vendors, and suppliersEstimate cost of all mechanical plans including accurate quantity take-offsDevelop schedules and task durationsWillingness to learn and adapt to new construction methods and marketsEstablish and monitor budgets for all construction phasesHelp identify cost-saving techniques, materials, and proceduresMonitor plan changesEstimate prices of all changesManage subcontractor solicitations as neededExperience drafting subcontractor scopes of workAbility to read and understand Contract Drawings and SpecificationsMaintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid bidding processAssist with creating submittals and coordinate with project managers during pre-construction phaseQUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of construction experience preferredTravel to job sites as neededAbility to work evenings or weekends if neededFamiliarity with blueprints and ability to read plansWHAT WE OFFER:
