Position Title: Physical TherapistDESCRIPTION OF POSITION Plans and administers prescribed physical therapy treatment programs for patients to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part.Job Requirements

Must be a licensed physical therapist in the State of WashingtonMust have successfully completed a Masters or Doctorate degree in physical therapy approved by the Council of Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Physical Therapy AssociationMinimum two years of experience in a general hospital, clinic, or rehabilitation center preferredSchedule Information

Completes daily charges and schedules patients.Unit Specific Information

Reviews and evaluates physicians referral and patients medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.Performs patient tests, measurements, and evaluations and records findings to aid in establishing or revising specifics of treatment process.Plans and prepares a written treatment program based on evaluation of available patient data.Administers manual therapeutic exercises to improve or maintain muscle function.Instructs, motivates, and assists patients in non-manual exercises and in functional activities.Administers treatments involving application of physical agents such as light, heat, water and electricity.Administers massage, traction and manual therapy techniques.Records patient treatment response and progress.Instructs patient and family in physical therapy procedures to be continued at home.Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommends modifications.Confers with physician and other health practitioners to integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient health care.May plan and conduct lectures and training programs on physical therapy.May train and evaluate clinical students.May plan and develop physical therapy research programs and participate in conducting research.May teach physical therapy techniques and procedures in educational institutions.
