Private Equity Deal Senior Associate / VP

The Brydon Group is a private equity firm based in Washington DC that partners with outstanding mid-career executives to acquire business-to-business (B2B), business-to-government (B2G), and healthcare software and services businesses.Brydon’s three founding partners have multi-decade experience in large cap private equity (Blackstone, Carlyle), multiple successful exits in software and bulge bracket banking (Goldman, JP Morgan), and extensive public service backgrounds. Brydon initially launched a $100mm Fund I in February 2023, have made seven platform (and nine total) acquisitions since launch, and closed on a $170mm Fund II in May 2024.This role is ideal for a highly talented candidate who wants to gain extensive deal experience and work directly with senior leaders on all aspects of sourcing, due diligence and value creation post-acquisition. There is significant opportunity for growth and promotions for the right candidates (For associate candidates, Brydon does not require you to attend business school after two years).We are passionate about developing the "hard skills" of private equity AND your abilities and judgment as both investors and operators.

In this role, you will gain experience evaluating deals, building models and investment memos, conducting due diligence and interacting with sellers and management teams.ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for you to:Support / manage a pipeline of transactions with a target of 5 - 6 transactions per yearBuild financial models with scenarios involving different capital structures and investment assumptionsSupport deal teams with the creation of investment committee memos and presentationsLead deals including preparation of LOIs, term sheets, and transaction documentsSupport due diligence, including scoping and executing key analyses within tight timelines on prospective investment target companiesAssist with the monitoring of portfolio company performance, including execution of value creation initiatives and attending board meetingsSupport the execution of quarterly investment valuations and investor presentationsContribute positively to firm cultureConduct industry research to develop and test investment thesesRequirementsUndergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, and/or Economics, or equivalent work experience1-4 years of work experience in or around financial / transaction services including investment banking, private equity or consultingExceptional quantitative analytic capabilities and strong Powerpoint skills to assist in preparing deal memos and materials and financial modeling experienceExperience with software, business services and / or healthcare services a plus, but not requiredHigh degree of integrity, outstanding organization, decision making and problem-solving skillsEntrepreneurial attitude and desire to work for a dynamic and fast-growing organizationLocation / BenefitsLocation:
