Job DetailsWe are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Collections Specialist to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a critical role in our organization's financial operations, with a focus on managing our accounts receivable and ensuring the timely collection of payments. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with a solid understanding of accounting principles and a proven track record in collections. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Handling and managing all aspects of our collections process including contacting customers regarding overdue accounts and negotiating suitable payment plans.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer data in the collections system.
- Reconciling account discrepancies by investigating documentation, identifying issues, and resolving these issues in a timely manner.
- Recording entries of financial transactions and maintaining accurate records of all collection activities.
- Collaborating with the sales and customer service departments to resolve billing disputes.
- Preparing reports on account status and collection activity for management.
- Ensuring adherence to company policies and compliance with legal regulations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Collections Specialist position should possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a collections role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in managing and resolving collections issues.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures related to collections.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and databases.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field would be advantageous.
