Job Description:The Configuration Management Specialist is a critical engineering support and data management role responsible for maintaining the integrity and consistency of configuration items throughout the product and program lifecycle.The Configuration Manager will perform detailed drawing and documentation review and will be required to interface with all departments supporting the program, including Program Management, Engineering, Contracts, Quality, and other functions concerning the release and change to documentation. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain the integrity of system documentation, drawings, design artifacts, baselines, records, and associated configuration information using established configuration processes and controls. This role provides additional on-demand support to various engineering and program management teams as a subject matter expert for analyses, consultations, special topic discussions, tools support, and other tasking as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develops, maintains, and oversees configuration management plans, processes, and procedures, ensuring compliance with requirements and the integrity of product and program configurations.Supervises the configuration lifecycle, including identification, change control, status accounting, and audits, while maintaining accurate records of configuration items (CIs).Facilitates engineering, CAD, and program documentation lifecycles, including the organization, review, approval, and release of engineering drawings ensuring accuracy, traceability, accountability, and version control.Reviews, approves, and integrates formal program documentation, coordinating with contracts organizations and customers to meet new or changing requirements and maintain data accuracy.Coordinates with cross-functional teams for the resolution of configuration issues, implementation of improvements, and guidance on best practices.Provides guidance and training to other team members on configuration management methods, tools, procedures, requirements, and engineering documentation best practices.Acts as a primary point of contact for program technical data, ensuring departments follow data identification, marking, review, and release procedures.Implements data control methodologies to protect Intellectual Property, prevent process or system issues, and ensure the proper maintenance of quality standards.Ensures the establishment and maintenance of baselines, the integrity of customer requirements, and the enforcement of configuration standards.Creates and manages Configuration Status Accounting reports and facilitates Configuration Control Boards at the program level.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications and RequirementsBachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.The ability to obtain a future Security Clearance is required for the role. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Experience in configuration management, preferably in the aerospace, defense, or high-tech industries.2+ years’ experience working with and thorough understanding of the principles of EIA-649, ISO 10007, or equivalent.Preferred to have 2+ years’ experience using AutoCAD and Costpoint ERP or similar CAD or ERP software.Experience with engineering CAD documentation, including schematics, mechanical assembly diagrams, BOM’s, parts lists, O&M manuals.Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, MS Office, Teams, Project.Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.Self-driven with the ability to multi-task and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Additional Skills:Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 Quality Standards.CMPIC or similar Configuration Management Certification.Working knowledge of government and industry export regulations (ITAR, EAR, CUI).Experience with PLM, CRM, ERP/MRP toolsets.Working knowledge of SolidWorks PDM and SharePoint.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $70,500 - $131,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
