Cloud Operations & DevOps Engineer II

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud Operations & DevOps Engineer II to join our team. This role focuses on ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure while implementing DevOps practices to streamline operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in cloud technologies, automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
Key Responsibilities: Cloud Operations:
Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure, including provisioning, monitoring, and optimizing cloud resources. Implement and manage cloud security policies and practices to protect data and applications. Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues to ensure high availability and reliability. Collaborate with engineering and development teams to design and implement scalable and resilient cloud architectures. Monitor cloud environments to ensure performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
DevOps Practices:
Develop, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery processes and improve deployment efficiency. Work with development teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle. Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar. Monitor and manage the performance and availability of applications and services through automated alerts and logging systems. Facilitate continuous improvement of DevOps processes and practices based on feedback and metrics.
Collaboration and Support:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and deployment efforts. Provide technical support and guidance to development teams regarding cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices. Document and share best practices, procedures, and troubleshooting guides with team members. Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, tools, and industry trends to drive innovation and improvements.
Incident Management and Problem Resolution:
Respond to and resolve operational incidents, outages, and performance issues in a timely manner. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues. Maintain and update disaster recovery plans and ensure regular testing of recovery procedures.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud operations, DevOps, or a related role. Active Cloud Architect Certification from any CSP. Active DoD Secret Clearance. Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience with CI/CD tools and practices, including Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar. Strong knowledge of automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef/Puppet. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Additional Requirements:
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
