Product Application Engineer, Power Transmission RubberSummaryThe Product Application Engineer supports technical aspects of Power Transmission Rubber belts within the Megadyne product line. Supports sales by validating requests for products, and reviews customer specifications/requirements by providing technical drawings, and specifications. The supports Customer Service with product suitability decisions/interchanges with competitor products. Helps develop internal technical literature and internal and external training materials. The Product Application Engineer reports to the Product Line Manager.AccountabilitiesIndividual accountabilities:Provides application engineering support (selection, product compatibility, problem resolution, and related duties) for Megadyne PT productsSupports sales and customer service team regarding technical customer requirements and questions to result in increased revenueInterprets drawings, review and approve supplier PPAP's, approves dimensions and branding changes needed to meet Company requirementsUtilize and compare engineering software and tools to simulate and analyze belt drive performance under various operating conditions to satisfy customer needs.Shared accountabilitiesParticipates in product management team activities, advising Product Management regarding technical aspects and assisting in the planning of new products and management of existing products to grow Vitality IndexDevelop technical documentation and training materials in conjunction with Product Management and MarketingKey linkages & interfaces / most important stakeholdersWork with customers to understand their technical requirements and specifications to grow the Megadyne brandProactively create and deliver technical training for internal and external customersActive support and participation representing Megadyne in industry standard organizations and conventionsRequirements of the jobB.S. Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical fieldMinimum 5 years' experience in application engineering for power transmission products/rubber beltingExcellent communication skills; strong attention to detailExcellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CAD engineering softwareOccasional travel requiredPhysical demandsPhysical demands described here represent those that must be met by employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job.
