Employer: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama Job Title: Senior Application Systems Analyst/Programmer Job Location/Place of Employment Address: 450 Riverchase Parkway East, Birmingham, Alabama 35244 Job Duties/Description: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama seeks a Senior Application Systems Analyst/Programmer responsible for developing detailed technical designs, code, test, debug, and maintaining PeopleSoft applications. Analyze business processes, provide consultancy, and propose solutions for application-related challenges. Collaborate with users and vendors to understand and document application requirements. Oversee the entire lifecycle of PeopleSoft applications, from design and development to implementation. Ensure the ongoing development and upkeep of both technical and user documentation. Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure software accuracy, completeness, and system integrity. Enforce strict adherence to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology. Conduct inspections and post-implementation reviews to continually enhance the quality of applications. Minimum Requirements: Must have a Bachelors degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field and at least five (5) years of experience in Information Technology or a related occupation. This position also requires demonstrated knowledge and experience with the following: Designer Tools (Fluid Development, Application Designer, Peoplecode, and Application Packages); Data Management Tools (Application Engine, Data Mover, and ExceltoCI); Reporting Tools (Pivot grids, XML/BI Publisher, PS Query, and SQR); Integration Tools (Component Interface and Integration Broker); Application and Tool Version 9.2 and 8.58; PeopleSoft Security; PeopleSoft Internet Architecture; scrum/agile methodologies; Phire or STAT; and MS SQL or Oracle Database.
