Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIESOnsite oversight and management of installation crews that are responsible for the physical installation and testing of network devices, copper/fiber optic cabling and its associated infrastructure, and troubleshootingManagement of day-to-day project activities to ensure on-cost, on-schedule, on-quality deliveryManagement of subcontractorsTimely reporting of the site status and any issues/troubleshooting that is required.In- and out-of-state overnight travel as neededIdentifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budgetPrepares status reports and keeps management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issuesConfers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.Develops and maintains technical and project documentationCoordinates project activities with customer/site POC’s and leadershipInterface with senior leadership, internal and external, as the lead on-site company representativeKeep team leadership up to date on project statusOther duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS5+ years’ experience managing projects in the telecommunications/Enterprise network cabling IndustryAbility to operate a lift (e.g. boom, scissor, vertical)Experience in managing projects involving multiple subcontractor’s is a plusKnowledge of applicable codes and standardsAbility to complete and submit accurate documentationStrong written and verbal communication skillsSupervisory experienceMS Office and MS Project proficientPositive attitude and professional dress and demeanorData Center/ Wi-Fi experience desiredWorking knowledge of BICSI EIA/TIA standards, National Electric Code, OSHA and relevant building codesSolid working knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, communication standards and installation. Experience in communications cabling is strongly preferredStrong technical skills and knowledge of telecommunications industry and/or installation including voice, data and video structured cabling systemsMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs. 20 to 25 times per day/shiftMust be able to safely climb ladders while carrying 20 poundsValid driver’s license and proof of insuranceMust be at least 21 years of ageMust reside within local commuting distance of Washington, DCMust be willing and able to travel via plane to CONUS and OCONUS locationsMeticulous attention to detail; Attentive and responsive to customer needsExperience briefing/engaging with senior leadership to ensure open communications, expectation management, and process resolutionPeople skills are a mustCERTIFICATIONS (Required)BICSI Technician Certification or 3 years of experience leading an installation teamCERTIFICATIONS (desired)OSHA 30

Overview

We are seeking a Lead Infrastructure SME to join our team supporting multiple projects/programs across the business unit. In this role, your main effort will be leading an on-site installation team at customer locations in Washington, DC. You will also serve as the onsite company representative interfacing with senior members of the customer staff providing project plans and status updates. Overall project tasks involve physical installation and testing of network devices, copper/fiber optic cabling and its associated infrastructure, and troubleshooting.
