Description:Contract Length: 13 WeeksWeekends: Every OtherFloating: Tele/PCU UnitsOverview:Our client, a faith-based, not-for-profit health system with an extensive network of services and facilities, is seeking a dedicated RN Telemetry I to join the IMC Telemetry team. This position offers an opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a supportive environment.Key Responsibilities:• Monitor and assess patients in the telemetry unit, providing appropriate interventions as needed.• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.• Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and communication.• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.• Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatments.Patient Population:• Post-surgical patients, joint replacements, chronic disease exacerbations including dialysis, diabetes management, and sepsis.Patient Ratios:• Typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5, with a maximum of 1:6.Required Credentials:• Current Texas State RN License or Multistate RN License• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)• NIHSS certification• EKG certification (to be completed during compliance onboarding)Experience Requirements:• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a telemetry setting or similar unit.Preferred Skills:• Experience in Medical-Surgical Units (MSU) or Telemetry.Work Environment:• The unit comprises 23 beds with an average census of 14 patients. Equipment includes Alaris pumps, Westcom nurse call systems, and Vocera for communication. Typically, 1-2 CNAs assist on the unit based on the census.
