As Cvent’s Chief Marketing Officer and influential member of the executive team, you’ll play a critical role in the growth and positioning of the business. You’ll oversee a global team of 270 marketers, and drive the strategy to evolve our brand, increasing revenue, awareness, and relevance amongst target audiences.
The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to Washington, DC, or be within a 3-hour flight because we will require you to travel to our offices frequently every month.
In This Role, You Will:
Lead our global team of 270 marketers
Build and develop a diverse team of marketers who are creative and collaborative
Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that is aligned with the company’s revenue, client retention, and strategic growth goals
Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders in sales, customer success, and product functions to ensure that marketing efforts are aligned with the product roadmap, revenue initiatives, and the overall growth strategy of the business
Define and implement operational metrics, KPIs, and other measurements of success that measure, optimize and continually improve efficiency and effectiveness of marketing programs, tactics, and strategy
Drive demand generation through SEO, content, paid marketing, display, email marketing, website conversion, trade shows, co-marketing, and branding; managing funnel metrics to build awareness, drive leads, and manage through conversion
Establish a forward-thinking and modern marketing organization that experiments, is agile, and is aggressive in using new tactics and ideas
Understand the competitive market environment with insights and market research to express Cvent’s proposition through corporate marketing, including PR, partnerships, and driving the outward face of the brand
Here's What You Need:
Experience building and scaling B2B SaaS organizations (ideally) from $1B to $2B in sales
Experience leading teams with – at minimum – 150+ global marketers
Proven success as a CMO at a global, enterprise B2B SaaS company. We will consider a non-CMO if you were the Number 2 at a company with $1B+ in sales
Experience working in a marketing tech company; experience in the events industry is a plus
Proven track record of success in all facets of marketing, including but not limited to demand generation, customer marketing, brand, product marketing, communications
Knowledge of, and appreciation for, the components and importance of a world-class Marketing Tech stack to underpin the marketing engine
Proven track record of developing scalable marketing processes; strong understanding of funnel math; ability to manage the numbers
Ability to lead all aspects of brand, positioning, product marketing, content, demand generation, market research, communications, and our in-house creative studio to build funnel, acquire/convert, and retain target customers
Experience with ABM technology (6sense, Demandbase, Terminus, Rollworks, etc.) is a plus. Working knowledge on various SaaS tracking tools to manage and monitor marketing activities, forecast, analyze, and drive marketing process improvements
Proven ability to serve as the voice of the customer. Ability to communicate key differentiators of our products and identify opportunities for future growth
Success creating GTM strategy in collaboration with Product and Sales to target enterprise customers and ensure relevant, consistent messaging and experience for each buyer persona
History of recruiting, mentoring, and growing a world-class marketing team and developing leaders who will inspire the team to deliver meaningful and measured results
