We are looking for motivated individuals interested in complex engineering challenges around one of the most important aspects of TikTok. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Mobile Engineers, Frontend Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists in a high-impact and fast-paced environment.
Our team is responsible for providing TikTok search users with a first-class search experience by building a strong and robust infrastructure and platform to support product fast iteration and key feature development. In our team, you'll have the opportunity to take part in developing the key features on TikTok Search, understand how TikTok Search could evolve to be a multi-billion-user product, and experience how user requests vary on this giant platform. Detailed responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Product Development: Support fast iterations of TikTok Search business and further enable product growth.Performance & Stability: Build a fast and robust Search product by continuously optimizing system performance and improving service stability.Search Engineering Infrastructure: Guarantee reasonable Search architecture governance to ensure that the overall system operates smoothly.Search Offline Processing: Construct a high freshness multimedia index and provide reliable offline data support for the Search Engine.Backend Engineering Team Building, Management, and Development.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant majors.Excellent problem-analysis and -solving skills with industry experience in building backend services for large-scale consumer-facing applications.Proficient in coding, data structures, and basic algorithms.Good team communication and collaboration skills.Preferred Qualifications:5 years of industry experience in building and leading backend services for large-scale consumer-facing applications.Good understanding of how modern Search systems are built and how modern Search products should evolve.Industry experience in building a consumer-facing Search product.Experience in building a medium-sized backend technical team from scratch.TikTok is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.Our company benefits include:100% premium coverage for employee medical insurance, approximately 75% premium coverage for dependents, and a Health Savings Account (HSA) with a company match. We also offer Dental, Vision, Short/Long term Disability, Basic Life, Voluntary Life, and AD&D insurance plans. Our time off and leave plans are:
