Data Center Manager Engineer,
you will play a critical role in the design, engineering, development, deployment, and use of software for the DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) where we support our client’s mission to centralize and standardize Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) across the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) enterprise. We integrate off-the-shelf and new development efforts to sustain and enhance Defense Intelligence Agency’s (DIA) National Media and Exploitation Center (NMEC) architecture by leveraging cloud-based computing, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and cross-domain transfer systems to provide cutting-edge data exploitation, enrichment, triage, and analytics capabilities to Defense and Intelligence Community members. DTP advances the state of the art in mission-focused big data analytics tools and micro-service development spanning the breadth of Agile sprints to multi-year research and development cycles. While most work is conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and, occasionally, some tasks may be performed remotely. Percentage of remote work will vary based on client requirements/deliverables. This is a 100% on-site position. All work must be performed at the customer site in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Collaborate with stakeholders to define the processes and standards that govern data center activities. Monitor activities to confirm compliance. Track and report data center resource consumption (power, cooling, and rack space). Coordinate and control access and logistic support. Communicate maintenance intervals to affected stakeholders. Follow data center procedures and processes. Establish new and/or modify existing procedures and processes for efficiency. Manage and coordinate the installation and maintenance of data center equipment. Ensure compliance with data center security protocols. Prepare reports on data center operations. Maintain data center documentation as assigned. These include maintenance verification documents, technical drawings, procurement documentation, and related technical manuals. Supervise, engage, and oversee vendors and subcontractors supporting data center. Responsible for racking and stacking of servers and related devices. Design and implement server technologies in environments with multiple configurations. Assist in performing root cause analysis for operational issues that occur. Ensure safety of all personnel/equipment on-site. Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and decommission of physical equipment. Rapidly distinguish between isolated server problems, network outages, and power/cooling issues that impact enterprise services. Provide data center support 24/7 to respond to emergency incidents that affect mission-essential services. Experience and education required for this role: Experience working in an AGILE environment. Experience managing hardware configuration baselines. Experience with Data Center Strategy, Planning, and Roadmap maintenance. Experience with Data Center consolidation and cloud environment transition. Strong oral and written communications skills. Experience establishing goals and plans that meet project objectives. Track record of working effectively within a team, and support to peers toward improved processes and results. Knowledge of power infrastructure layout from generation to rack level, redundancy levels and techniques, rack standards, properties and selection criteria, and power rail/strip options, cold aisle/hot aisle containment, and standards for fire suppression, security, and safety. Experience monitoring environmental sensors and determining issues prior to impact to systems. Education: Requires a bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience supervising others. Desired experience for this role: Experience operating and maintaining systems in a Windows environment. Experience with SAN or network storage setup and administration. Experience working in an Agile environment. Familiarity with Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) concepts and solutions. Experience with troubleshooting within a security environment. Experience with backup and restore procedures. Clearance Required: Must possess active TS/SCI with CI Poly OR TS/SCI and willingness to get a poly.
