Response is a nonprofit organization serving survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, stalking and human trafficking that live and/or work in the upper Roaring Fork Valley. We provide essential services to survivors and educate the community about our mission. Our comprehensive services include individualized advocacy, emergency financial and housing assistance, court and medical accompaniment, therapy and support groups, and a 24/7 crisis helpline.
We are currently located in Aspen but will be moving to our new Basalt facility, complete with a seven room shelter, in January. There is an employee housing unit at the facility that may be available for this position starting in mid-January.
The Role
As Response’s Bilingual Advocate, you will play a crucial role in supporting survivors through a range of services, including:
Providing direct assistance and case management to survivors.
Collaborating with clients to identify their needs, set achievable goals, and develop personalized service plans.
Advocating on behalf of clients within the criminal and civil justice systems.
Coordinating referrals to community service providers to help survivors achieve their service plan goals.
Maintaining accurate and timely documentation to meet compliance requirements.
Working closely with other Response staff and community partners to ensure comprehensive service coordination.
Participate in community and partner meetings for Response.
Conduct community education, awareness and outreach about Response services and issues in the Latinx community.
Assist with providing prevention education programming in local middle and high schools
Take periodic overnight shifts on the 24-hour crisis helpline as needed to support the team.
Qualifications For Success
Fluent in Spanish and English
A degree in social work, counseling, or a related field OR relevant professional experience.
Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to provide immediate support to survivors.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other database software.
Commitment to completing 30-hour advocacy training prior to starting work and to taking future trainings as requested.
Appropriate documentation to work in the United States, clean background check.
