We are the Data and Analytics team, a dynamic group of developers, analysts, and data specialists dedicated to empowering Promega's business through insights and data-driven solutions. Our team creates innovative data solutions, reports, dashboards, and analytical tools that simplify complex data, allowing users across the company to make informed business decisions. We collaborate with global stakeholders, focusing on improving data access and understanding across all levels, from executives to technical experts. Develop data models, reports, dashboards, and other analytics tools to support Promega's global business and analytics requirements. Develop reporting and ad hoc business analytics for strategic initiatives. Participate in the development of global reporting systems to consistently improve global user adoption, knowledge, and system skills. Support global users in adoption and use of reporting and analytics tools.**While this role offers the flexibility to work remotely part of the time, we expect candidates who are currently not local to relocate to the Madison area.

CORE DUTIES:

1. Reporting and Analytical Tools Development: Develop reports, dashboards, and other analytics tools. Ensure reports and dashboards support a broad spectrum of usability from delivered "out of the box" reports that require minimal interaction to reports for the expert user looking to mine data to answer business questions.

2. Define and Gather Requirements: Lead efforts with the business in defining requirements to develop new reporting analytics and systems to support the reporting of key metrics used for business decisions.

3. Training: Train others on reporting and the use of business analytics tools and systems focusing on self-sufficiency for users. This includes developing training materials in both written and video format and proactively reaching out to business users to understand changing data and reporting requirements.

4. Data Modeling and Understanding: Create and/or understand the underlying data models, data modeling techniques, and code necessary to support the development of reports and analytics.

5. Decision Decisions Support: Based on knowledge of the data, support business leaders in making key business decisions.

6. Project Management: Lead the coordination/project management of data structure changes between various reporting systems (SAP BW, BOBJ, Power BI, etc.).

7. Incident Monitoring: Monitor, communicate, and troubleshoot data and reporting incidents in a timely manner.

8. Process Improvements: Proactively implement process improvements to reduce resource requirements to maintain reporting.

9. Tool and Process Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend new (or existing) reporting and analytical tools/software.

10. Team Development: Support the development of other Business Analytics team members.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in a Data related field.

2. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in business analytics or reporting development.

3. Technical Skills:* Proficient in data querying, data modeling, and advanced data analysis.* Demonstrated proficiency in enterprise reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.* Experience using SQL for data manipulation and analysis.

4. Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interpret data and effectively communicate insights and implications across all levels of the organization.

5. Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all analytical tasks.

6. Project Management: Strong experience in managing projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Programming Skills:* Experience with statistical programming languages such as Python or R.* Familiarity with other Power Platform tools, including Power Apps and Power Automate.

2. Industry Knowledge: Relevant experience or understanding of the Life Science Industry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Ability to remain stationary for several hours at a time.

2. Ability to use a computer/Microsoft Office applications.

3. Ability to travel as needed.
