Marketing Manager
to join our growing team. We are looking for a candidate who is organized, self-driven, efficient with deadlines, and able to work effectively with diverse teams of engineers, marketers, and design staff to lead the development of persuasive and standout deliverables. In this role, you will be a marketing leader collaborating with peers within the marketing and business development team. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing, updating, and up-leveling the platform and resources our marketers use to develop winning proposals and interviews. Additionally, you will be collaborating with the team to develop and execute compelling written and visual content that promotes BKF's services.Join a team that is regularly recognized for its leadership and creativity in our industry; for example, BKF's marketing team is a recipient of the 2023 Marketing Excellence Award. As marketers, we focus on procuring civil engineering, surveying, and grants and funding contracts by leveraging the largest portfolio of projects along the West Coast. BKF Engineers is known for our ~110 years of experience designing the most iconic projects across the West Coast. With multiple offices and over 450 staff, BKF has a unique team environment that fosters collaboration and innovation for marketing professionals.Responsibilities may include:
Manages and trains BKF's exceptional, dynamic, and award-winning marketing teamConducts regular updates for training materialsIdentifies and manages ongoing subject matter trainingManages Firm-Wide Proposal and InterviewsPrioritizes multiple concurrent high-quality pursuits, proposals, and presentations by assigning workload for:prime and sub-consultant proposals and interviewslayout, formatting, proofreading, coordinating graphics, and editing/reviewingEnsures RFP compliance/requirements and that QA/QC is completed on all marketing-generated materials before submissionServes as the primary point of contact for proposal coordinators and teamsEnsures timely proposal production and delivery for all marketing proposals and qualifications packagesIdentifies and leads the development of creative assets to uplevel pursuitsReinforces best practices to marketing, BD, and technical team membersMaintains and improves marketing team efficiencies and increases competitiveness in Market SectorsManages, identifies needs, develops, and maintains marketing assets, including project descriptions, photos, references, graphics, and other dataRegularly trains team members on the use of materialsManages and maintains BKF's organized filing system for proposals, including databasesGathers, formats, and maintains accurate, up-to-date firm marketing informationManages and leverages marketing to maintain record integrity in Deltek, Open Asset, and HubspotPlans and executes various marketing campaigns in support of the firm's strategic plansCoordinates and produces award and recognition submittal packages in collaboration with Communications Team memberCollaborates on marketing and communications campaigns as neededAssists with special projects as neededOn occasion, may require flexible hoursTravel between BKF offices and other off-site locations may be requiredKnowledge and experience required:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or English Degree or equivalent demonstrated experience7 years of experience with the proposal process and proposal production, preferably with an A/E/C firmCompensation and title commensurate with experienceExceptional interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsMust have the ability to work well with others, especially department managers, project managers, and anyone involved in business development effortsPrefer strong Graphic Design eye, but not requiredExperience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentProficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)Deltek Vision experience a plusLocation & Salary
BKF supports a healthy work-life balance and utilizes a hybrid model of home and office work. This position will be based out of any of the following offices: Newport Beach, Walnut Creek, or Santa Rosa.The salary range for this position is anticipated to be $100,000 - 142,000 and may vary based on education, experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and performance.
