Amazon is seeking exceptional Security Engineers to work in our Platform Security Team. We’re looking for the best and brightest to join us in Austin, Texas; HQ2; and Seattle, Washington. If you’re passionate about Information Security, have exceptional technical depth in deploying security solutions and want to join a large scale, fast-paced organization with global impact on millions of customers, then we’d like to talk to you.

We're the team who secures Amazon's Retail services running on our critical platforms, like AWS cloud, container runtimes, internal build-systems, and managed network fabrics. We support Amazon's software developers by providing tools and guidance to help them develop and deploy secure software. We are experts in Application, Network and Cloud technologies, passionate in our desire to secure Amazon's deployment and protect our customers' trust and unflinching in our resolve to hold the security bar high.

Key job responsibilities

Design security solutions to support Amazon Retail Service Teams

Build prototypes, proofs of concept and reference models for securing AWS infrastructure, containers, supply chain, and cloud networks.

Identify and prioritize security risk across the company, while keeping builder experience at top of mind.

Demonstrate and promote Security best practices

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience

Experience with AWS products and services

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
