Job Summary

Responsible for the continued development of the Morton brand across the Consumer segments. Leads and shapes the strategies, goals and campaigns to strengthen Morton brand equity and position the brand for growth. Develops and executes integrated marketing communication strategies and programs to promote our brand, products, and drive positive media coverage and marketplace engagement. Innovates within our existing categories to drive continued growth and brand engagement. Partners cross-functionally to ensure our efforts support the P&L requirements of our business and that we are meeting the needs of our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Activations

Lead and shape the strategies, goals and campaigns to strengthen Morton brand equity and position the brand for growth.Directs the development and management of the integrated marketing communication plans that build brand equity, establish differentiation and drive purchase through paid, owned and earned media channels.Oversees the marketing communication strategies for the brand, which includes creative development, audience targets, go-to-market brand strategy, brand marketing plans, messaging/positioning and activationManages the relationships with our various agencies, including RFP processes to determine our overall agency rosterWorks to define a clear, compelling value proposition, to define our ongoing path to growth by shaping our identity, offerings and positioning in the marketplace.Develop a cohesive brand strategy, digital approach and communication plan that advances our brand and business forward in a manner that ensures we remain relevant for both current and new users of the brandBusiness Development

Closely monitor and identify changes in market, customer and competitor trends with the potential for impacting current and future business performanceIdentify market opportunities and risks, quantify/estimate P&L impact, and justify investments required to support future business growthImplement all commercialization efforts to ensure the Sales & Marketing organization delivers against its growth commitmentsEstablish and report against key performance metrics, addressing any gaps to budget and future commitmentsProvides input with Supply Chain & Operations to incorporate market requirements into short and long-term capacity planningGather market-based intelligence on our categories that guide our strategy and initiatives, including segment-based market mappingInnovation

Responsible for executing innovation launches that support our existing categories.Responsibilities include execution, customer sell-in and in-market performanceOversee projects from idea generation through commercializationProvide input as needed regarding capabilities and resources needed to execute against innovation pipelineEnsure Innovation strategies position the business to succeed in the evolving retail landscape including eCommercePosition the new product portfolios to achieve long term financial targetsProvide project health transparency across the portfolio of significant organizational projects & coordinate project prioritization to ensure alignment with our company strategyPricing Strategy Development, Planning & Performance

Provide strategic direction and collaborate with the pricing team and sales to develop and optimize pricing architectures, strategies and plans by Consumer market segmentIntegrate pricing strategies into product strategies and plansCollaborate with Sales Planning & Sales teams to identify optimal trade promotions to deliver business results.Budgeting & Forecasting

Participant in monthly integrated business planning meetings, providing key market drivers that will impact the forecast and ensuring new business opportunities and risks are incorporated into the demand planReview baseline budget and financial forecast development and recommend adjustments to estimated sales volume and revenue attainment based on key growth initiatives, market growth rates, trends, opportunities and risksSupport annual budget development through a rich understanding of current segment trends, risks and opportunities, as well as initiative based opportunities and related financialsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities

Bachelor of Science Required, MBA preferred10+ years of experience across marketing and innovationProven expertise and skills in marketing, brand, innovation, and marketing research.Understanding of key quantitative and qualitative methodologies.Ability to work and communicate cross functionally to unearth needed insights and plans of action.Strong communication skills to provide management the results of research. (Actionable reporting in writing and in-person presentations).Naturally inquisitive around data, consumers, trends and research points.Strong project management skills and adherence to timetables. Ability to multi-task and work on a variety of projects at one time.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.Analytical skills for problem solving and innovative thinking.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs (Excel, Word, Power Point) and other computer technologies, as well as Nielsen, Spectra, Home-scan, etc.
