General Description:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function. The HR Manager is responsible for administering compensation strategy, benefits, and leave programs, and enforcing company policies and practices. They oversee aspects of Employee Relations, Performance Management and provide support to employees at all levels and in all locations of the organization.

Position Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree with emphasis in Human Resources, Organizational Development or similar field
  • 3-5 years of progress experience in Human Resources

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with Director of Human Resources to develop departmental goals, objectives, and systems to align with company strategic goals
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate updates in policy and practice to upper management.
  • Responsible for updating employee information, ensuring complete and accurate records and maintaining the validity and accuracy of employee specific data in applicable systems.
  • Maintains and oversees the HRIS platform (UKG), as well as integration and feeds with benefits vendors, payroll and finance departments, and other internal and external partners as applicable
  • Participates in audits, as applicable, to ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Manages employee benefits including program development, renewals, and claim resolution
  • Prepares applicable reports intended for Juneau leadership team, including but not limited to, budget tracking, employment data, retention and attrition data, et al
  • Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances, such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Collaborates with the Talent Acquisition Department to ensure a smooth and efficient hiring, pre-employment, and onboarding process for prospective new hires, and executes new employee onboarding and orientations
  • Monitors established career paths, professional development, performance evaluations and applicable training in partnership with department leaders
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures and revises as necessary
  • Monitors the company's compensation program and executes changes in a timely fashion as directed by department leaders and senior managers

Job Expectations:
  • Position may require extended periods of time sitting and/or standing, talking both in person and over technological avenues, lifting up to 20 lbs. as needed
  • Position may require travel within the Juneau Construction Company footprint to jobsites and additional office locations for various events as needed. This role is hybrid in nature, with the opportunity to work in a remote capacity up to two days/week as applicable.
  • Position requires tact and confidentiality, as the HR Manager is responsible for owning, reporting on, and updating sensitive information pertaining to the organization and its' employees.
