Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Labor and Delivery (L&D) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (night shift) Guaranteed Hours: Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Current RN license Certifications: - Current certification in Advanced Fetal Monitoring (EFM) - AWHONN Intermediate EFM Must-Have: - At least 2 years of experience in High-Risk Obstetrics - Nurses with at least 3 years of experience in High-Risk Obstetrics Job Description: - No call requirements; however, 4 weekend shifts per scheduling period are expected - The unit consists of 12 Labor and Delivery Rooms (LDR), 5 Ante Partum Beds, 4 Obstetric Emergency Department (OBED) beds, and 3 Operating Rooms (OR) - Day Shift includes 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, 2 Certified Surgical Technicians (CST), and 1 scheduler; Night Shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, 1 CST, and 1 scheduler - Patient ratios are 1:2 and 1:1, depending on transition and acuity - Equipment includes Alaris Pumps and CADD epidural pumps; EMR is utilized as CPN and Meditech - Permanent positions are available on this unit - Procedures performed include C-sections, Spontaneous Vaginal Deliveries (SVD), D&C, D&E, twin deliveries with both C-section and SVD, scheduled and emergent C-Hysterectomies, and massive transfusions - Ideal candidates should be highly engaged and motivated, with a positive outlook and intentional in all interactions and procedures - Scrub Color: CST sky blue scrubs - Provides Level II Trauma services for obstetrical patients with Level I and Level II injuries - Offers Maternal Designation Level III and Neonatal Level II services, with aspirations to advance further - Scheduling is self-directed, encouraging teamwork among staff - The unit has a good mix of experienced staff and those with 1-2 years of experience - Physicians are engaged and maintain excellent relationships with the staff - The management team is highly involved and routinely checks in with night shift and weekend teams
