A top critical access hospital in Kansas is seeking a full-time Assistant Director Hospital Laboratory to lead their hospital’s laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with COLA/CLIA standards and delivering high-quality services to both patients and medical staff.

The ideal candidate will have a current MLS or MT certification from a recognized accrediting agency (ASCP, AMT, etc.), with a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of clinical laboratory experience, including 1 year in a managerial role, is preferred. MLTs with a Bachelor's degree in a science-related field will also be considered.

Key responsibilities of the Assistant Director Hospital Laboratory include training, supervising, and evaluating laboratory staff, managing quality control procedures, and updating laboratory manuals and policies. The Assistant Director Hospital Laboratory will also be responsible for preparing monthly statistics and quality assurance data, developing and overseeing the lab budget, coordinating workload distribution, and maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment. The role also involves performing chemical, biological, and microscopic tests and ensuring seamless collaboration with other departments to provide efficient patient care. This position requires participation in the on-call rotation to provide 24/7 patient care.
