Overview:
JOB PURPOSE:
The Senior Business Intelligence Developer is a critical team player for the IT department who implements business intelligence solutions, manages enterprise reporting, provides analytical support to various departments across the organization, supports data governance initiatives, and serves as a liaison between IT and the business.The successful candidate will be able to handle multiple and changing priorities, operate with little oversight, be highly motivated, take ownership of systems and processes.Your Team Who Youll Work WithWork closely with the Senior Director of Data Governance and Architecture to develop and execute goalsWork with various business stakeholders and leadership to foster collaboration and support between IT and the businessWork closely with other IT/Analytics team members to deliver solutions
Responsibilities:GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business IntelligenceImplement end to end business intelligence solutions solving real-world business problems (requirements gathering, design, and implementation)Lead business intelligence projects while utilizing other team members such as ELT Developer, EDW Developer, Quality Control ManagerIntegrate new data sources into the enterprise data warehouse via azure data factory and other modern ELT toolsCreate dimensional models/star schemas via SQL (views, tables, stored procedures)Manage Analysis Services Tabular Models and Power BI Data SetsCreate end user solutions such as SQL tables and views for analysts to query, Power BI reports for corporate staff, excel reportsReportingServe as Power BI Administrator for the organization - manage workspaces/applications and implement security best practicesServe as the corporate reporting subject matter expertDesign and develop new report content, following design and visualization best practicesAnalyticsServe as a subject matter expert in all things data and analyticsPerform ad hoc analysis for the business as neededIdentify performance patterns, root causes and future business opportunitiesPerform QA and UAT of other team members workData GovernanceCommunicate core business processes and concepts throughout the organizationDevelop processes and procedures to ensure data integrityDevelop terminology standards in conjunction with the businessLiaison between IT and the businessWork with various team members and leadership to foster collaboration and support between IT and the businessEffectively communicate and translate business requirements from the business to other team membersHelp guide IT and leadership decisions with insights gained from working closely with the businessConduct regular training sessions for the business around reporting and KPIs
Qualifications:GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or related fieldStrong excel usage and knowledge4+ years hands-on experience with analytics like: Campaign Marketing, Root Cause analytics, Return on Investment (ROI), forecasting, Direct Marketing, Search Engine Marketing (SEM/SEO).4+ years SQL experience4+ years experience with Power BIDental service organization experience preferredProven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolutionStrong customer service focus with proven ability to connect with customers, understand needs and deliver resultsExcellent communication and listening skills with the ability to document methodologies, requirements, and processesStrong problem solving and conceptual thinking skillsWilling to be a positive mentor and guide to the team sharing knowledge and experience where neededProven track record of consistency, accuracy and accountabilityTeam player who manages up team members, leadership and the organization, keeping the team informed of Business Intelligence activities, work efforts, projects, challenges and successesWilling to be a positive mentor and guide to the team sharing knowledge and experience where needed
