The Fort Harrison VAMC in Montana is seeking two (2) onsite Full Time Medical Technologists to provide Clinical Laboratory generalist duties in supporting the healthcare services to the Veterans who receive healthcare treatment at this facility. At least one (1) year of Clinical Laboratory experience is needed. Duration of Employment: 10/01/2024 – 9/30/2026 Hours for Service/Shifts: Monday through Sunday days, evenings, and night hours Day shifts: 0600 to 1430 GMT; 0700 to 1530 GMT; 0800 to 1630 GMT Evening shifts: 1200 to 2030 GMT; 1400 to 2130 GMT; 1400 to 2230 GMT Night shifts: 2000 to 0630 GMT; 2200 to 0630 GMT All shifts shall be adequately staffed by Laboratory personnel during normal hours to be established. Location: Primary Location: Fort Harrison VAMC, 3687 Veterans Drive, Fort Harrison, MT 59636 Salary Range: $62,400.00/annum - $74,660.00/annum (To be discussed- Competitive Salary Range with basic benefits) Degree Requirements, Skills, Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory or a related science Board Certified via Board of Registry or American Medical Technologist Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate Preferred experience of 1 year of Clinical Laboratory experience Independent Judgment and responsibility Confidence in Technical skills US Citizenship Proficiency in written and spoken English language Duties and Responsibilities: Covering variety of manual and automated procedures in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, and Hematology Laboratories Development, performance, evaluation, interpretation, correlation and validation of accuracy of laboratory procedures Spending 30% of time in direct patient care Responsible for collecting blood and blood products from patients Performing testing procedures on a variety of biological specimens using manual and automated procedures Monitoring of Quality Control systems and measurements and collaborating in the diagnosis and treatment of patients Providing education for other healthcare professionals, patients and caregivers Additional Qualifying Information: All procedures are to be done in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth for beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
