Job Description:

A minimum of 7 years of experience with large and complex database management systems. Seeking an experienced professional in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) with deep expertise in Azure Cloud technologies, particularly Azure Message Queues.

Scope of Work/Job Characteristics:

The Data Architect will serve as the principal line of communication for the project team. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows: Responsible for enterprise-wide data design, balancing optimization of data access with batch loading and resource utilization factors; Knowledgeable in most aspects of designing and constructing data architectures, operational data stores, and data mart; Focus on enterprise-wide data modeling and database design; Define data architecture standards, policies and procedures for the organization, structure, attributes and nomenclature of data elements, and applies accepted data content standards to technology projects; Responsible for business analysis, data acquisition and access analysis and design; Database Management Systems optimization, recovery strategy and load strategy design and implementation; Design, implement, and maintain a robust SOA to ensure seamless data synchronization across distributed systems within a government environment; Develop comprehensive SOA solutions with a specific focus on integrating Azure Message Queues, ensuring reliable and secure data flow across multiple platforms; Leverage Azure technologies, including Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Azure Logic Applications to design scalable, high-performance message queuing systems that support the data warehouse infrastructure; Actively participate in coding, utilizing languages such as C Sharp (C#), Python, or Java to build and deploy custom solutions that meet project requirements and comply with government standards; Optimize Azure Message Queues and related services to handle high-throughput, low-latency messaging workloads, ensuring system reliability and efficiency; Ensure that all developed solutions adhere to stringent government security protocols and compliance requirements, incorporating best practices for data protection and secure communication; and Create and manage workflows for data synchronization, ensuring consistent data availability across all systems. NOTE: This position is designated as "essential staff" and is expected to report for duty when instructed to do so in times of emergency or potential emergency as required by Section 33-208.002(4), F.A.C.

Provided Equipment:

The Department will provide furnished office space, computer equipment, licensed software, access to the Department's network, and internet access

Requirements/Qualifications:

The Department is seeking a full-time, on-site Data Architect throughout the PO term of this RFQ.

NOTE:

Any successful Candidate with access to the Department's network is required to complete the Department's Security Awareness Training within 30 calendar days of hire.

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience is required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable. Equivalent work experience in SOA architecture and Azure cloud solutions will be considered. The Department requires the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position:

Extensive experience designing and implementing SOA solutions within Azure, with a strong focus on Azure Message Queues, Service Bus, Event Grid, and Logic Apps; Proven track record of delivering SOA projects in government settings; and Strong coding skills in C#, Python, or Java, with the ability to develop custom solutions on Azure. NOTE:

In addition to the above list, the selected Candidate must successfully complete a Level II Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications:

The Department prefers the Candidate to have the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position:

Advanced knowledge of government compliance and security requirements for software development and data management; and Prior experience working in government environments is highly desirable.
