Overview of the roleThe NTAM product marketing role is responsible for development, management and execution of marketing content and activities for assigned product set. This includes: developing compelling messaging, creating and maintaining investor-driven product content, building and “feeding” always-on and point-in-time campaigns to drive product adoption and loyalty within key investor segments, and managing or assisting with product marketing operations.
The role will serve as a “go to” SME for assigned product set within NTAM’s marketing team. The role will require strong leadership and partnership within the broader NTAM organization –- Investments, CPM, Product, Distribution, Compliance, Operations, etc. –- to successfully meet marketing and organizational goals. In addition, the position will partner with adjacency Northern Trust business lines/units to advance One Northern collaboration and growth.
Responsibilities:
Establish clear product marketing strategies for assigned investment capability on NTAM’s global platform aligned with business goals and available resources
Define product positioning and distill technical concepts into simple, compelling messages appropriate for audience type (institutional, intermediary, retail)
Develop and manage product content across marketing constructs (e.g., videos, articles, website, social, etc.)
Partner closely with CPM, product management, investment teams, sales and channel marketing partners to build compelling insights and content for various audiences to consume in a variety of formats
Identify key opportunities to grow market share by leveraging internal and external sources to gather product, investor and competitor insights
Garner intelligence from various tools such as eVestment, Morningstar and research partners to inform marketplace opportunities and market positioning of our products/solutions
Lead marketing aspect of new product launches – creating go-to market positioning and strategy to build awareness and product adoption. Coordinate all marketing-related activities
Assist Marketing Services team with maintaining, updating, distributing and enhancing product-related updates (e.g., quarterly/annual performance communications, mergers, closes, fee and name changes, etc. across various marketing channels)
Ensure marketing of products and related content meet all required regulatory obligations
Experience & Skills:
7+ years of financial industry experience, asset management focus preferred
Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills. Demonstrated experience collaborating with senior stakeholders across investment, sales and product teams and extracting key differentiating features of an investment strategy to help successfully position products
Strong commercial mindset, intellectual curiosity, market & client knowledge
Critical thinker with superior problem-solving abilities able to organize and influence people and resources to effectively prioritize issues and respond to the needs of the business
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, effectively managing and navigating multiple projects, stakeholders and competing objectives
Working investment product knowledge and ability to apply an investor-centric lens and translate difficult/complex investment concepts into practical, applicable content and messaging
Deep understanding of the investment management industry and familiarity with US and International regulatory requirements/regulations
Driven, self-motivated, high-performing mindset
Excellent communication (written & verbal)
CIMA, CFA designations a plus
