Since 2007, ZemiTek has provided technical assistance, project management, information technology (IT), knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation, training and learning development, and institutional support services.Position DescriptionGlobal Solutions Venture (GSV) has been contracted by the USAID Bureau for Conflict Prevention and Stabilization (CPS) to provide institutional staffing support in the Center for Conflict and Violence Prevention (CPS/CVP). As part of this contract, the CPS/CVP requires a Senior Climate Security Advisor to track, report, analyze, and present data and metrics to influence strategy, programming and evaluation.Location:

Washington D.C.Work Schedule:

Full-time, Hybrid 3 days in the office (subject to change)Starting Salary Range:

$108,000 - $137,000 a year with the starting salary determined based on candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and education, in addition to budget availability.Clearance:

Ability to obtain a Secret clearance (US citizenship required).ResponsibilitiesEssential functions for this role include:Provide technical input to shape US Government climate security policy initiatives, such as the US Framework for Climate Resilience and Security and guide the Agency's implementation plan.Lead interagency and internal USAID Climate Security communities of practice.Prepare USAID Principals, including the Assistant to the Administrator and the Chief Climate Officer, to participate in international negotiations and meetings.Provide in-country and virtual technical assistance to USAID Missions and USAID/Washington operating units working on environmental peacebuilding and climate security.Write and present USAID technical papers, how-to-guides and briefings on climate and conflict issues.Collect and analyze data to build the evidence base for environmental peacebuilding and climate security.Design and deliver training and presentations to USAID staff, implementing partners and other audiences to advance USAID's vision of climate security.Collaborate with U.S. Government interagency partners, other donors and other experts on technical issues related to climate and conflict.Academic or professional fieldwork on climate and conflict.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree

from an accredited college or university and

eighteen (18) years

of relevant work experience, or;Master's degree

from an accredited college or university and a minimum of

Ten (10)

years

relevant work experience.Knowledge of MS Office Suite programs (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) as well as Google Workplace applications.Outstanding problem-solving, decision-making, and good judgment skills required.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Demonstrated ability to advise across multiple offices/divisions and coordinate a diverse group of teams and projects.Highly organized individual who has both attention to detail and ability to influence and manage large projects.Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize information to present complex issues clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.Ability to receive an Interim-level and receive/maintain a full Secret-level clearance.Preferred Qualifications:PhD

from an accredited college or university and a minimum of

Ten (10)

years

relevant work experience.Publications related to climate security or conflict and climate.Experience working directly with U.S. government agencies on environmental and conflict issues.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team on projects requiring research and analysis.Experience working in a complex context affected by conflict and/or violence.Ability to develop effective working relationships in a very fast-paced office.Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team player who can positively and productively contribute to both strategic and tactical initiatives.Ability to produce thorough, high-quality work within a tight timeframe.Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills.Active Secret-level clearance.What We BelieveZemiTek
