What You’ll Be Doing:Obtains quality images for medical diagnosis by performing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures as directed by a physician by using appropriate technical factors and scanning techniquesPrepares patients for MRI exam: explains procedure, ensures that patient screening form is properly completed, safely transfers patient to MRI equipment, properly positions patient and assists patient on completion of exam; completes exams in the required timeframe.Acquires and Processes Images in accordance with the department standards. Evaluates MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately.Performs and remains current on all scanning protocols.Troubleshoots equipment problems and when necessary, report to the proper personnel for repair.Utilizes ancillary equipment appropriately: PACS system, laser camera, MedRad power injector, Radiology Information Systems (RIS/ EPIC), and Invivo monitor.Assists in the training of Radiology students, house staff, or others, in MRI procedures, protocols, and equipment and/or safety issuesBills all procedures performed and maintain necessary paperwork
Shifts Available: Rotating - 8/12 hours Rotating - 40 hours/week
Hours/Days: Working between 8 and 12 hour shifts, 8hr= 6:30a-3p or 2:30p-11p 12hr= 6:30a-7p- 11pm; Monday - Friday Rotating (w/weekends)
What You Need to Bring to the Table:Satisfactory completion of a JCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education of Radiologic Technologist) approved Radiologic technology programCRT-Certified Technologist by the state of California Department OF Health Service in Radiology or ARRT- The American Registry Radiology Technologist or ARMRIT American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging TechnologistsTwo years of directly related work experience3-5 years of MRI experience with knowledge of GE 29.0 softwareKnowledge of Magnetic resonance imaging techniques, methods, and equipmentKnowledge of general radiographic techniques, methods, and equipmentKnowledge of Magnetic resonance imaging physics, physiology, structural and organic anatomy including cross-sectional anatomyKnowledge of Magnetic Resonance Angiography proceduresKnowledge of methods of positioning patients for magnetic resonance imaging proceduresKnowledge of safety principles and procedures relating to magnetic resonance imaging.Ability to troubleshoot, document and communicate equipment problemsAbility to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and visitorsAbility to deal tactfully and sympathetically with patientsAbility to follow written and oral instructions
