The Director, IT Communications – Digital our Company Manufacturing Division, is responsible for the internal communication strategy, plans, content, and execution for the Digital Manufacturing Division. With a digital-first mindset that informs, inspires, and engages employees globally, we are looking for a lead to help authentically tell the story of how our company is using technology to improve lives.

This includes collaborating with global leaders and partners to establish core positioning and narrative to build and execute a strategic communications plan and raise awareness of the Digital Manufacturing Division organization and its solutions. This also includes working closely with our network of IT and Manufacturing Division divisional communication colleagues to activate integrated communications and marketing strategies and help tell authentic stories and drive engagement. You will be an active partner with IT and our manufacturing division to elevate and communicate Digital Manufacturing Division programs and initiatives focused on making IT at our Company a place where people love to come to work and are enabled and inspired to do their best. You will work with people at every level to develop internal communication plans and materials that engage and educate our diverse employee population and support a culture of transformation. You will be responsible for supporting and providing thought leadership for all Digital Manufacturing Division initiatives, including transformation portfolio and business-as-usual communications.

The Director, IT Communications – Digital Manufacturing Division, needs to have a passion for creative storytelling and a comfort level operating and driving initiatives within complex, matrix organizations, focusing on employee engagement and content management. This position requires a strategic communicator experienced in the processes and channels to deliver a range of communication needs. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing a fully integrated approach, be willing to test new communication channels, and have the technical knowledge to design and post content and images on a variety of digital, internal platforms.

Principal Responsibilities:

Internal Communication

Develop and drive communications that engage and inspire employees in Manufacturing Division, Manufacturing Division, and the rest of IT around the organization’s priorities and the digital transformation portfolio.

Develop and execute communication plans that address immediate and long-term activities, tying multiple communication moments together into broader strategies.

Execute integrated communications and marketing strategies that bring the IT Priorities and IT narrative to life, further strengthening and elevating a shared vision across the IT, Manufacturing Division organizations, providing the right information, to the right stakeholders, at the right time.

Experiment with new, creative ways to reach employees with the news and information they care about and drive their engagement in prioritized organization initiatives.

Research, write, edit, and publish communications with an obsession for quality and accuracy.

Develop and maintain content for Digital Manufacturing Division stakeholder communications, including executive and Board-level material.

Collaborate with and guide Digital Manufacturing Division change managers, workstream teams, and product line leads on complex, sensitive, business-critical, and cultural communications. Generate and implement communications solutions that support the goals of each initiative and team.

Guide senior technology executives on complex, sensitive, business-critical, and cultural communications. Generate ideas to inspire cultural transformation and foster employee and leadership engagement.

Advance storytelling efforts across global and division audiences by developing journalistic outcome-focused success stories centered on the business, strategic programs, senior leadership.

Ensure communications are compelling and aligned with our desired voice and tone. Counsel and support business functions and senior leaders on their internal communication needs.

Routinely measure and report out to stakeholders regarding the impact of internal communications.

Engagement & Event Management

Lead the delivery of cohesive, omni-channel storytelling through on-brand creative, informative, and engaging content, including journalistic outcome-focused success stories focused on the business, strategic programs, senior leadership.

Support leadership on key internal communication, marketing, and engagement activities.

Plan, manage and execute internal events on behalf of leadership (e.g., Town Halls, Bytes & Bite, internal and external speaking engagements), including developing content and copy, coordinating event logistics, hosting live events, and providing event support.

Help identify opportunities to connect employees within the organization and develop key messages and communication material to support those programs.

Basic Skills and Requirements:

15 years and above of experience in corporate communications, divisional communications.

Bachelor’s degree in communication, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline.

5-7 years of experience in technology and/or manufacturing communications and marketing.

Deep knowledge of innovative and complex communications and editorial tools, including AI-generated solutions.

Demonstrated experience in crisis management and online reputation management.

Powerful short and long-form writing and storytelling skills, capable of capturing the authentic voice in written communication.

Strong project management skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, collaborative, deadline-oriented environment.

Able to quickly grasp information and develop clear communication with minimal guidance.

Outstanding attention to detail.

Self-motivated individual requiring minimal direction.

Proven ability to develop successful working relationships with senior executives.

Expert judgment in critical decision-making on issues impacting reputation.

Portfolio of work demonstrating the ability to tell complex stories in relatable terms.

Preferred Skills and Requirements:

Passion for technology with digital, cloud, and transformation experience.

Experience with visual storytelling, video production, social media.

Team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.

Able to work with and influence all levels of employees, including senior leaders.

Able to exercise high judgment and deliver results, particularly in narrow timeframes.

Enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly matrixed organization.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Studio, SharePoint.

Expected US salary range: $164,800.00 - $259,400.00
