Our mission: create the best way to have a conversation and share an experience when you can’t physically be with the most important people in your life.Responsibilities:Setting the agenda for security projects to safeguard FaceTime and Phone calls.Maximizing our team effectiveness by mentoring our high growth employees to succeed in lead roles.Making the right strategic technology decisions. Strengthening security while creating great user experiences, including sufficient backwards compatibility.Shaping product direction by developing vision and building relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders, including: peer engineering teams, the design team, senior software leadership, and the product marketing team.This team has a duty to shape and drive FaceTime’s private and secure calling experience. We fulfill our duty by caring deeply, living on our software, developing defensible opinions on what to keep / what to change, and having empathy for the countless users in the world who rely on us every day.Minimum Qualifications:You care about helping others grow in their careers at Apple.You have a history of hiring and mentoring a diverse team of engineers.You prioritize building an inclusive team culture where everyone can be heard and the best ideas are the ones we pursue.You have strong planning and execution skills.You have strong communication and collaboration skills.You have strong software engineering skills and can act as an arbitrator for tough technical debates.You aspire to take an Apple-wide perspective in making decisions.You possess strong software development and architecture design skills with a focus on secure system design.Preferred Qualifications:You have strong understanding of secure coding practices, security protocols, and encryption techniques. Familiarity with cryptography standards is a plus (e.g. Secure Frame, Integrated Encryption Scheme, Messaging Layer Security).You have familiarity with peer-to-peer or client-server architecture and network protocols.You have experience with secure communication protocols, especially in handling untrusted data.Education & Experience:At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
