Position Purpose :

The SQL Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for building database systems that are high-quality, scalable and high performance to meet the demands of our rapidly growing and ever-changing environment. This team member uses repeatable practices to ensure data availability, integrity and security, and they interact with developers, business analysts, network and SAN engineers, and other teams involved in project planning, development and testing.

Key Areas of Responsibility :Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including platforms to monitor system health and performance, ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security.Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.Qualifications:

7+ years experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including various versions such as SQL Server 2016 and Azure SQL DatabaseFamiliarity with Microsoft Azure services related to SQL databases, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Synapse DW, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure Data Factory.Understanding of database design principles, normalization, denormalization, and SQL Query Plan Optimization.Proficiency in query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning to ensure optimal database performance.Strong knowledge of T-SQL for automating database tasks and maintenance.Backup/Restore databases between SQL ClustersMonitor Backup jobs and restart if necessaryOptimize SQL cluster performance and DBsMonitor DB/Log Disk Space and Ensure DB Auto-Growth Settings are OptimizedCreate New SQL Cluster Nodes and Manage them in related Availability GroupsKnowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server 2016.Experience with SQL and PowerShell scripting.Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory.Understanding of database security best practices, including role-based access control, encryption, and auditingExperience managing Dynamics 365 CRM DataverseExperience managing Dynamics Business Central DatabasesAbility to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance.Must be organized.Demonstrate problem solving abilities.Attention to detailIn depth knowledge of computer systemsExcellent communications skillsMust have experience in the Microsoft Office suite, including MS VisioHaving technical certification(s) is a plusEducation and/or Experience:

Bachelor degree with a technical major and three years of applicable experience; or five to seven years of continuous applicable experienceNeed to be a team player and work well with co-workers, vendors and event staff.

Culture

Barrett-Jackson's culture is live and in-person our business to the core. Team members are in the office 5 days per week, 8am to 5pm at the Scottsdale, AZ headquarters. During live events the company largely travels together to produce and ensure each event is a success. This requires weekend work and long hours.
