We love ideas, learning, and making an impact–and are looking to recruit colleagues who share these passions.Position DescriptionThe Donor Relations & Events Manager is an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual in a thirteen-person development team that supports LFLA’s strategic and fundraising goals by serving as the lead for fundraising events and mid-level donor relationships ($1,000-$10,000) to advance the organization’s mission. This position will manage event planning, execution of fundraising events, and support stewardship and engagement opportunities for LFLA’s mid-level donors and beyond. This is a new role and will serve as an ambassador at LFLA events and work to increase donor giving, donor engagement, and donor retention.Ideal CandidateThe LFLA seeks candidates who are strong leaders with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; high energy, with a “can do” attitude; proactive and flexible in an environment of change, a critical thinker, customer service friendly, and solution oriented. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively and partner closely with other departments and with the Director of Development to achieve fundraising and donor stewardship initiatives and organization benchmarks.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEventsPlan and execute off-site signature events including the Literary Awards, Literary Feasts, Council Literary Series, Membership events (Young Literati and Leadership Circle), third-party fundraisers, and other donor cultivation and stewardship events.Project manage and lead all aspects of events including logistics, budget, timeline, vendors, guests, and staff/volunteer engagement.Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure proper execution of events from start to finish.Work closely with Data Services team to implement and maintain data tracking systems for event evaluation.Foster cross-functional collaboration with various departments to develop, coordinate and monitor event goals and budgets.Maintain the LFLA master events calendar.Have a hands-on approach with events to ensure quality control and leadership. Provide strategic assistance and recommendations to management.Other duties as assigned.Donor RelationsWork closely with other department directors to manage customized cultivation and stewardship activities and events related to mid-level and major gift donors.Assist with the creation of a comprehensive stewardship program that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels.Develop strategies to engage new donors and grow annual giving revenue.Actively respond to patrons and donor inquiries, calls and emails while keeping the Director of Development appraised of any issues.Work with Director of Development and Director of Major Giving to manage Naming Opportunities compendium/process and other recognition vehicles across LFLA.Coordinate stewardship projects, impact reports, donor communications, and other development-related projects, as needed.Utilize Raiser’s Edge to maintain accurate and up-to-date records on donors and prospects.
