The Oncology Nurse Practitioner
functions in an Advanced Practice role as a clinical expert in the clinical ambulatory setting. Practicing within developed Standardized Procedures, the nurse practitioner plans, implements, and evaluates the plan of care and seeks to improve care through collaborative/collegial practice among caregivers/providers/disciplines.PIH Health is a nonprofit, regional healthcare network that serves approximately 3 million residents in the Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Gabriel Valley region. Required Skills
Demonstrated expertise in Hematology/Oncology/Chemotherapy.Health education, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of hematology/oncology issues.Provide comprehensive care in the outpatient, inpatient, and infusion center setting.Effectively communicate and provide care regarding cancer diagnosis and treatment.Knowledgeable regarding all aspects of community Oncology and Hematology Nurse Practitioner scope of practice.Demonstrated leadership abilities.Excellent customer service skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, and conflict resolution abilities.Independent performer.
Required Experience
Current California Nurse Practitioner license.Graduate from an accredited Adult, Family or Acute Care NP Master’s Program.At least three (3) years of experience preferred.Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirements.Board Certification: Board certified Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner or board eligible.
