RKL is seeking an International Tax Manager to join the team to enable further growth in this practice. The International Tax Manager will work closely with the International Tax Practice Leader to provide a wide variety of compliance and consulting services for both inbound and outbound clients. In addition, the International Tax Manger will be a resource to the firm and aid in the development of other international tax team members.
While the preferred candidate would be based in Central Pennsylvania, this position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement or fully remote for well-qualified candidates.

- Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to clients and internal team members
- Advise clients on a full spectrum of International Tax services including planning, research, and compliance
- Assist with new business development, extended service and tax issue recognition for existing clients
- Review U.S. international tax-related returns related to foreign subsidiaries, related-party disclosures, non-resident entity returns and foreign tax credit calculations
- Provide guidance on foreign reporting related to expatriates, non-resident individuals, foreign trusts, and PFICs
- Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
- Manage the delivery of a full range of tax services and advise companies and individuals on tax implications of their operations
- Work closely with partners, managers and staff to integrate practice development strategies into a team approach to client service and new business development
- Lead a team responsible for reviewing tax strategies, ensuring tax compliance and increasing post tax profits to achieve the best corporate and individual tax practices for our clients
- Manage tax related projects and review tax returns, working with a variety of entities such as corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts and non-profits across various industries
- Review data input and resolve technical tax issues; respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities
- Provide guidance to Tax Interns and Associates in the scanning and preparation of tax returns; make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy, efficiency and tax saving opportunities
- Understand the scope of the engagement and provide input on client retention and fee structure
- Answer client calls and emails in a timely manner and with a solution-oriented approach
- Produce and review tax documents in a timely manner
- Ensure client deliverables are met within expectations and set deadlines
- Identify and introduce other firm services based on client needs and discovered opportunities
- Supervise Associates and Interns on engagements and provide guidance on an ongoing basis
- Provide Associates with client engagement opportunities for development
- Participate in business development and community activities to help identify and research opportunities on new and existing clients
- Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
- Participate in continuous learning activities and active research to improve and develop own and others' technical expertise; apply learned concepts

Education, Experience and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification preferred
- 5+ years' experience of progressive international tax experience including, but not limited to Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858, and 1118
- Strong technical skills in accounting, tax preparation and review within the international taxation environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products, strong analytical knowledge in Excel
Essential Functions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position as needed
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office and at client offices to access file cabinets, office machinery etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner and exchange information with internal and external actors as needed
- Ability to lift/carry up to 20 pounds
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours and weekends as needed
- Ability to travel to local and non-local clients as needed, overnight travel may be required
