Summary of Position:
Reporting to the Vice President of Administration of Finance, the Associate Controller is responsible for timely and accurate accounting records and reports. The Associate Controller works effectively with the finance team and ensures effective accounting procedures and operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Administration of Finance, the Associate Controller is responsible for timely and accurate accounting records and reports. The Associate Controller works effectively with the finance team and ensures effective accounting procedures and operations. Responsibilities:
- Working with the VP of Administration and Finance, exercises broad supervision of unrestricted and restricted fiscal activity to ensure sufficient fiscal controls to safeguard institutional funds while allowing the institution to accomplish its programmatic missions.
- Assists in the maintenance of internal controls, including semiannual reviews.
- Coordinates financial statements, annual financial reports, audit activities, and other information reports and requests; ensures accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
- Provides direction and assistance to college organizations regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, implementation of new practices and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
- Assists in developing and managing annual budgets for the College and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses.
- Maintains current knowledge of and implements changes based on college policies and procedures, federal policies and directives, and current accounting practices that directly or indirectly impact the college.
- Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to accomplish the College's goals and objectives effectively; oversees recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of unit staff.
- Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness and effects changes required for improvement.
- Recommends and participates in developing college policies and procedures; may serve on college planning and policy-making committees.
- May serve as the College audit coordinator.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to be flexible and work independently and collaboratively are required.
- Knowledge of relational databases and experience in utilizing various reporting tools.
- Demonstrable analytical thinking and business process improvement experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting, financially focused customer service management, and data analytics.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience managing people.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related fields
- Experience in a higher education setting
