Internal Senior Auditor

We are hiring for an experienced and dynamic Senior Internal Auditor at Valsoft to join our growing finance team in Saint-Laurent, Montreal!

The successful Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for overseeing and conducting comprehensive reviews of financial and operational processes to ensure compliance with policies, the accuracy of financial records, and the efficiency of operations. This role involves significant interaction with various departments to enforce standards and make recommendations for improvements.

What your day will look like:

• Plan and execute internal audits to assess controls, operational efficiencies, and compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations
• Lead audit projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
• Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and present these to senior management
• Recommend improvements to internal audit processes and controls
• Assist in the development and implementation of internal control policies
• Monitor the implementation of management's corrective actions in response to audit findings.
• Provide guidance and leadership to junior audit staff
• Stay informed about industry changes, new legislation, and best practices in internal auditing
• Occasional travel may be required for visiting other company sites, attending conferences, or participating in training sessions

About You:

• At least a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar related discipline is a prerequisite
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent
• At least 3+ years of experience in Internal and/or External Auditing or Compliance
• Strong understanding of auditing techniques and financial regulations
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent organizational skills and time management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fast learner and adaptable - time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Working knowledge of Oracle NetSuite ERP (or similar) is considered an asset
• Ability to visualize efficient processes and implement them
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
