Job Summary:
The Brand Manager will collaborate with the Director of Brand Management to develop, recommend, and execute core business strategies for the Consumer Packaged Goods business, which is a key growth area for the organization. This role involves managing marketing mix elements, refining product offerings, identifying sales opportunities, and creating data-driven selling stories. The Brand Manager will also lead multiple project teams, requiring strong collaboration with cross-functional partners. Additionally, this position is crucial in ensuring consistent brand messaging and positioning across all marketing channels, utilizing expertise in brand management, consumer behavior, and market trends.
Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:
Formulates and executes annual marketing plans for the Company, ensuring alignment with the organization’s objectives to maximize profitability and brand growth.
Oversees the design and quality of Consumer Packaged Goods products to consistently meet brand standards and fulfill the brand promise.
Analyzes syndicated data monthly to anticipate trends, assess strategic implications, and drive new product development.
Leads collaboration with R&D and cross functional teams on line extensions and continuous product improvement.
Directs category management efforts in collaboration with Retail Insights to identify opportunities and assess threats, reinforcing the Company’s position as a leader in the protein industry.
Establishes strategic direction through briefs for media planning, custom research, public relations (PR), packaging, and promotions within the product segment, ensuring alignment with overall brand positioning.
Partners closely with stakeholders to ensure category consumer communications are both effective and aligned with target audience needs, while also supporting broader Masterbrand strategies.
Assesses creative concepts and media plans against strategic briefs, managing their execution to ensure alignment with brand goals.
Fosters strong relationships with business management and sales teams by preparing impactful sales presentations, participating in sales calls, and facilitating open communication for effective problem-solving.
Collaborates with Business Managers and Finance to review sales and financial data, identifying customer issues and opportunities while monitoring overall business health.
Assist with defining and overseeing the development of private label opportunities, guiding all private label initiatives.
Manages A&P (advertising & promotion) budget, maximizing short term and long-term business growth with strategic investments Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent written & verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Creative problem-solving abilities and strategic mindset to champion initiatives with the company’s growth goals and brand equity.
Capable of synthesizing diverse information to draw relevant conclusions for category and brand initiatives and making actionable recommendations.
Experienced in profit and loss (P&L) analysis and management.
Well-versed in analyzing data (with a preference for experience using IRI/Circana) to derive insights and make informed recommendations.
Expertise in digital marketing and social media strategy.
Adept at creating professional presentations that effectively communicate strategic objectives.
Versatile in designing and managing consumer research projects, with solid understand of research methodologies.
Competent in managing consumer budgets to maximize returns.
Effectively advocates for new initiatives, securing the necessary buy-in to gain full organizational support.
Demonstrated project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
Familiarity with product development and go-to-market strategies.
Skilled in evaluating creative concepts and execution based on creativity, strategic alignment, and consumer impact.
Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.), Power BI, and content management systems.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
4+ years of experience in brand management, marketing, or related field is required.
Prior work experience in industries such as Manufacturing, Food Manufacturing, or Retail is preferred.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office environment with telephones, personal computers, and printers. The noise level of the environment is usually moderate.
Sedentary position, when not traveling with seldom to occasional lifting of less than 25 pounds.
May require standing less than or equal to 1/3 of the day.
Ability to collaborate virtually with stakeholders across multiple time zones.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
