Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to serve as a working technical lead supporting the Machining Operations Center (MOC) within the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) facility located in Orlando, FL.
The MOC specializes in producing ultra-precision machined components that are the foundation of infrared and electro-optical targeting systems used primarily for defense applications.

Job Performance Responsibilities:
As a working technical lead, the ME will be responsible for leading and driving the overall technical strategy and manufacturing effectiveness of assigned projects/programs.
Drive collaboration of the Manufacturing Engineering team with Industrial Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Production stakeholders to develop and maintain manufacturing process plans (MPPs) identifying the most appropriate equipment (CNC mills, lathes, etc.), methods, special processes, and fixturing required to manufacture precision machined components.
Ensure detailed work instructions, mfg. sketches and other shop floor documentation on your program lines are adequate to support rate production.
Support engineering team in providing shop floor support to resolve technical and manufacturing issues and individually support all areas of the manufacturing process as needed. Maintain strong relationships with the operations team and drive awareness of production metrics.
Ensure adequate Root Cause analysis is performed for component non-conformances and ensure implementation of effective Corrective Action. Drive awareness of defect metrics to the engineering team across your programs.
Monitor and drive action out of quality, schedule, and cost performance of assigned projects/programs. Partner with area manufacturing engineering teams in the shop areas to drive continuous improvement plans focused on driving down cost, span time and reducing defects.
Implement and drive insertion of new manufacturing technologies through Capital and IRAD investments. Support Industry 4.0, Digital Transformation, and IIoT projects.
Support training activities for new and growing manufacturing engineering team members.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Willingness to learn and receive training, and when required, train others.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Masters degree in Engineering with 7+ years (depending on degree level ) of professional experience in the following:
Advanced understanding of machining (CNC lathes, CNC mills, etc.) capabilities, methods, cutting tools, and fixtures used to manufacture precision components made from aluminum alloys, stainless steels, titanium and other common aerospace alloys.
Advanced knowledge of CAD/CAM systems and tooling concepts for precision machining operations.
Good drawing/blue-print and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation skills.
Proficient in utilizing Computer-Aided (CAD) - PTC Creo or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of precision measuring tools, gauges, and equipment.
General understanding of typical Mil-Spec special processes (heat treatment, chem-film, anodize, passivation, organic coatings, etc.).
Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Effective project management.
Due to facility requirements, candidates must be U.S citizen
Desired Skills:
Tactical use of CAD/CAM systems, specifically Siemens NX.
Windchill PLM
Design of special tools and fixtures.
Performing root cause analysis and implementing effective Corrective Action.
Experience leading Capital and/or Research and Development Projects.
Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools, including of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
Experience working on projects with teams as a leader and participant
Familiarity with ISO9000 and AS9100 industry standards, and common military specifications.
