This role will be part of the most rapidly growing segment within Fluor, one that spearheads transformative projects in advanced technologies and life sciences.This position requires extensive and diversified knowledge of material management practices and principles. In Fluor, Material Management encompasses sourcing, purchasing, expediting, material planning, field purchasing, warehousing and logistics. The role ensures the accurate, timely, and cost-effective identification, sourcing, purchasing, delivery, warehousing, installation, and commissioning of materials and equipment. In coordination with the Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction (EPFC) effort and/or facility and overhead department support, this role negotiates or supervises complex commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best value, emphasizing the on-time delivery of materials and equipment. Technical and professional knowledge in job-related areas is required to maintain awareness of business unit activity and keep the strategic business line president’s direct reports informed about material management matters. This position requires strategic thinking and action, considering all available facts and data, as well as considering alternative courses of action, resources, constraints, and company values. Work is performed in the home office and field locations for projects ranging in duration from short term to long term.Notice to Candidates:Background checks are carried out as part of any conditional offer made, including (but not limited to & role dependent) education, professional registration, employment, references, passport verifications and Global Watchlist screening.To be Considered Candidates:Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.Basic Job Requirements• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twenty (20) years* of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-four (24) years* if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerOther Job Requirements• Oversee all team activities, including direct and functional reports, and manage the implementation of the Material Management Work Process (i.e., sourcing, purchasing of equipment and bulks, expediting, logistics) to meet project requirements and schedule.• Develop and execute an integrated Material Management Plan in coordination with Construction and Material Control. This includes overseeing the development of detailed logistics plans for cost-effective transportation services.• Communicate staffing requirements with management and maintain effective client relationships through service excellence. Interact with project managers, discipline leads, clients, and joint venture partners to meet project objectives.• Develop sourcing strategies, prepare bidders lists in line with client requirements, and negotiate Terms and Conditions based on Prime Contract flow downs.• Maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures, ensure safe work practices, and adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.• Manage personnel, provide an environment for staff development and professional advancement, including training opportunities and performance feedback.• Analyze situations, identify and forecast problems, evaluate options, and implement appropriate actions. Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and projects effectively to meet critical deadlines.• May need to travel to attend to business related matters• Other duties as assignedPreferred Qualifications• Twenty (20) years of material management experience • Applicable professional certification(s) or license(s)• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills• Excellent leadership and decision-making skills• Experience managing purchasing, expending, logistics and material planning in Megaprojects (>$2B) experience• Experience and ability to lead a globally dispersed team• Experience managing multidisciplinary supply chain team of 20 or more. • Fluor Material Management Leadership experience strongly preferredSalary Range160,000 to 302,000 Market RateThe market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.BenefitsFluor is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to promote employee health, wellness, and financial security.
