Job Summary
The senior multimedia designer for Purdue University's College of Engineering undergraduate education team will help advance awareness, affinity and demand for Purdue Engineering through visual communications across the Purdue portfolio of cross-cutting programs in the Office of Undergraduate Education, including engineering academic programs in Purdue University in Indianapolis. With a primary focus on Purdue Engineering visual communications, this senior role is responsible for conceptualizing and producing creative content within the brand and on strategy across various media channels. To be successful, the candidate will need to have a broad understanding of digital communication practices and exhibit skills with respect to graphic design principles, web design, marketing and branding, problem solving, time management and adaptability. This individual will engage and oversee the work of vendors and will contribute to large and complex projects with collaborators across campus. Additional responsibilities include designing print-based communication and marketing materials including brochures, newsletters, advertisements and other printed materials driving marketing strategy for undergraduate engineering's marketing and communications efforts. The role also is expected to be a key collaborator in an on-campus environment with the undergraduate engineering communications team, which will have projects that require the expertise of each member, and collaboration and feedback are integral to the team's success.
What You'll Be Doing:
Guided by the objectives and the strategy of the project, initiative or campaign, conceptualize and create outstanding, relevant and audience-appropriate graphics and design concepts for print projects and digital platformsWork with a variety of personnel (staff, faculty, administrators, students, freelancers) and, at times, entities outside Purdue (vendors) on projects from concept to implementation to deliverableOutputs could include posters, flyers, banners, postcards, donor/partner materials, social media graphics and emails in SlateMake sure webpages within UGED and connected programs stay up to date, within brand and accessible, via provided content from UGED/programsDevelop new webpages within a variety of backend systems (Zope, Cascade, Plone) per request from programsAbout Us:
