YAP is one of the key agencies in New Jersey working with young people and families with the most complex needs in the communities. YAP primarily contracts with the divisions of the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) and some additional services are provided through individual counties, serving over 600 youth per week.Typical YAP services focus on intensive advocacy, case management, mentoring, family support, life skills training, anger management/coping skills training, and supported work programs with youth and teen fathers. YAP can tailor these services for those at risk of out-of-home placement, detention, incarceration, truancy, gang involvement, and criminal activity.Camden County YAP provides advocacy and mentoring to youth and families involved with the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) and those on probation through the Juvenile Justice Commission (JJC). This takes the form of our Advocacy, CRIS, Outreach, Life Skills, and Re-Entry programs. As an approved NJ Behavioral Health provider under the State Medicaid program, YAP also serves an additional 100 youth and their families at any given time and employs bachelor, master, and licensed level therapeutic staff. More recently, YAP has begun introducing its model for serving those on the Autism Spectrum through various training programs.Camden County YAP provides in-home and outpatient behavior health services for youth and families.
