Location: Elmwood Park, IL
Shift: 2nd shift: 4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. with opportunity for OT!

About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist with a strong background in setup and operation of CNC lathes and mills, specifically Duscon and Haas machines. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up machines, using existing programs and tooling to run parts, and making necessary adjustments and offsets to ensure the production of high-quality components. You’ll also play a key role in the inspection process, checking parts using gauges, and documenting your work with meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills (Duscon and Haas machines)
• Utilize existing programs and tooling to run parts, adjusting and making offsets as needed
• Ensure the first piece is produced accurately and meets quality standards
• Perform inspections on parts, using micrometers, drop indicators, vernier calipers, and other inspection gauges
• Accurately document work, maintaining high standards of precision and detail
• Collaborate with the inspection department to ensure product quality

Qualifications:

• Must Haves:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2-3+ years of CNC milling/turning experience in a job shop environment
  • Strong experience with CNC machine setup
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting micrometers, drop indicators, vernier calipers, and other inspection gauges
  • Ability to correctly interpret drawings, including complex GD&T callouts
  • Attention to detail and precision in low-volume, high-changeover environments
  • Stable work history (preferably not someone who moved jobs every 2-3 years)
• Nice to Have:
  • Additional experience in programming CNC machines
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting and adjusting CNC programs
  • Ability to solve complex inspection problems and develop new approaches
  • Experience with Duscon and Haas machines
