Production Underwriter

with established relationships to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to achieving and exceeding the regions profit plan through proper risk selection, agency management, and communication of Key Risks value proposition.Key Functions will include but not be limited to:Underwrite accounts over $25,000 within established underwriting authorityManage a book of business totaling a minimum of $10,000,000Develops and maintains relationships with 10-15 agenciesResponsible for a moderate number of agencies including partners with Advantage and/or Premier status within our Key Alliance agency structureAchieves/exceeds planned accident year loss ratio, rate change, renewal retention and inforce premium goalsTakes initiative to recommend potential improvements in underwriting principles, techniques or appetiteComplies with insurance filings and regulatory requirementsResearch new market niches, serve as an industry lead, and participate in special projectsEstablishes a knowledge base of agency needs, staff, target markets, and contracted insurersPerforms agency evaluations and establishes agency goals within required time frames and expectationsParticipates effectively in new and renewal team sales activities and Client Service Management (CSM) meetings to obtain and retain profitable businessQualifications:

BA/BS DegreeCPCU, CIC, or AU designation preferred3-5 years of workers compensation underwriting experience with the full array of industrial classes, deductibles and dividend plans as well as an understanding of loss development and the ability to objectively assess workplace hazards, hazard controls and employer financials3-5 of marketing experience working with independent agentsSelf-motivated and results orientedStrong managerial skills with the ability to work independently and as a team memberCapable of working with internal and external teams and partnersSuperior customer service skillsExcellent vendor management skills
