The Industrial Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial electrical projects. This role involves analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and clients. They will also travel to attend site visits, design reviews, contract negotiations, etc. Perform quantity takeoff of structural steel, process equipment, process piping and process ductwork, etc. Develop construction methods and equipment utilization plan. Obtain vendor and subcontractor quotes on the estimate. Complete all labor, material, equipment, and subcontract pricing. Complete preliminary pricing of indirect costs. Prepare proposal schedules or coordinate proposal schedule with Project Controls Dept. Prepare written execution plans and technical clarifications. Work with Proposal Coordinator to compile all required bid submittal information. Periodically, prepare field change order estimates based on initial Issued for Construction drawingsKey Responsibilities:Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for industrial electrical projects.Determine the quantity and cost of materials, equipment, and labor required for each project.Prepare and submit competitive project bids in accordance with established guidelines.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.Evaluate and recommend cost-saving measures and alternative solutions to enhance project profitability.Maintain and update cost databases to reflect current market prices for materials and labor.Review and assess subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as necessary to reflect changes in scope or conditions.Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management and clients.

Salary: $80-120K5 years $80-100K10-15 years $100K-120K

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum high school diploma or GED5+ years of electrical estimating experience within an industrial control and instrumentation setting:o steel erection, mining, concrete plants, petrochemical/manufacturing or oil and gas/refineryProficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software and proficient in at least one commercially available estimating software system. (CCC uses Win Estimator)Ability to work with minimum of supervision.
