Job Summary:

Grants Manager is the primary writer for all donor reports, letters of intent, prospective funding scenarios, and proposals, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail, the ability to multitask, a high level of organization, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. They are responsible for the overall quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all grant proposals and report submissions and responses. Esperanza currently has a portfolio of 100 institutional donors consisting of community foundations, government and corporations with most gifts ranging from $5,000 - $1million+.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Establishes and Maintains relationships with grantmaking institutions and program officers.Writes a minimum of 100 new and renewing grant proposals each year.Researches, prepares, submits, and tracks grant proposals and reports.Maintains sound knowledge of Esperanza's mission, programs, target population, and strategic vision and uses this information to better prepare proposals and other written communications.Research foundations and other grant-making entities for potential funding opportunities.Prepares and submits proposals and reports in accordance with each donor's guidelines.Conducts follow-up communications with funders to provide additional materials as required or necessary.Maintains the grant's pipeline and manages tracking in CRMWorks closely with the Director of Development, program staff to develop accurate and persuasive proposals and reportsAssists fundraising colleagues with creating major gift proposals.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (English, creative writing, journalism, education, or related fields)Knowledge of local philanthropic community including the current interests and strategic interests of foundations.Demonstrated experience writing successful fundraising proposals required, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.5+ years significant experience working in Development or Advancement.Knowledge of corporate and foundation fundraising community in Greater Cleveland.Demonstrated ability to collaborate, work independently, and as part of a team to reach fundraising goals.Proven track record of securing significant grant funding from various sources.Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.Ability to interpret and analyze complex data and present it in a clear and compelling manner.Strong research skills and familiarity with grant databases and resources.Knowledge of the Latino community and experience in education is highly desirable.
