The Department
Because Invesco understands data and the products created from data are the lifeblood of our business, we have created a global Enterprise Data & Analytics Office (EDAO). EDAO is a linchpin of an ecosystem of data-first functions that will work together seamlessly to enable Invesco to achieve the true value of data and data products. EDAO will empower Invesco to leverage data as a strategic asset by making quality, trusted data and content available to the right people, at the right time, in the right format, in the most efficient way possible to enable both large transformations and day-to-day operations.
Your Role
The Data Senior Business Analyst sits within the Distribution Data Office as a part of the EDAO, reporting to the Distribution Data Officer. They maintain good relationships with internal EDAO partners and collaborate with their peers across the Distribution business domain. They develop a strong understanding of the investments and distribution data and business processes, including both how it is produced and consumed across all Distribution channels and how to apply EDAO strategy and practices to drive Distribution's data capabilities forward.
The focus of this position is to work closely with the business units to gain in-depth understanding of customer's business strategy, processes, services, roadmap and the context in which the business operates. This role will be key to understanding the documenting capabilities needed to address business challenges. Under the general supervision, gather business and data requirements, convert the business and data requirements into technical requirements for solution development. The senior business analyst supports the product owner/s in managing the scope of the assigned project(s), resolves any impediments from requirements perspective for development team, supports the system testing and user acceptance testing. The business analyst also performs validation of deliverables against requirements ensuring that solution is meeting the objectives.

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks.Analyzing and understanding the end-to-end Distribution processes and the data associated with multiple business processes having cross domain.Identify opportunities to improve efficiency.Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size projects to assisting product owners on larger more complex projects.Under the guidance of the product owners, the senior business analyst should be able to work with business stakeholders to document the functional and non-functional requirements.Conducts interviews to gather customer requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.Translates conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.Demonstrate strong Problem-solving skills.Attending regular team and other required meetings daily/weekly.Ensuring clear and accurate communication and responding to EDAO partners, business, technology partners and peers in a timely manner.Provides updates to senior management, project stakeholders on the progress of the project and or assigned tasks.Reports weekly status to senior management and project team as applicableConduct UAT testing when rolling out new regulatory filings or added data sourcesIdentify, research, document and / or remediate exceptionsAnalyzes and verifies requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.This individual:
Must be comfortable working in an agile development environmentHave an ability to handle multiple requests from varied stakeholders, in a way that maintains clear priority, and ability to adjust when neededBe an effective "translator" of business needs into technical requirementsDemonstrate an ability to build relationships, collaborate, and influence internal and external teamsBe able to work under guidance of senior team member, take initiative, and get projects completed with great attention to detail and on time.The experience you bring:
A bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, Information Technology.Minimum 5-6 years of industry experienceStrong scripting skills in programming languages like SQL and Python, as you will be responsible for writing queries and other data transformation scripts.Solid knowledge of Data Life cycle, data governance, data risk, Master data management concepts, data modeling, Business intelligence and analytics concepts.Ability to work in a team/group setting.Ability to interpret complex or vague instructions and successfully produce results.Proactively identifies, analyzes, and resolves procedural fail points.Demonstrates superior judgment, reasoning, and follow-up skills.Demonstrates a high level of initiative, assertiveness, and self-confidence.Proactively identifies and analyzes procedural improvements. Initiate projects/workflow that would enhance the department's functions.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office productsShares information efficiently between team members.Promotes Teamwork.Effectively manages multiple responsibilities and meets deadlines.An understanding of the concepts related to data modelling, coding and process flow designExcellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skillsExcellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skillsLogical and efficient, with attention to detailNice to haves:
