We look for creative collaborators who evolve, adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced global environment.Sky EngineeringThe Sky Team within Core Engineering is responsible for enabling the use of public cloud services, as well as infrastructure management practices within the firm. You will be working as part of a global, multi-disciplinary team responsible for researching, architecting, and building cutting-edge tools, systems and best practices for Engineers across Goldman Sachs. We are at an early stage of modernizing our application stacks around cloud native principles, and enabling Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for the firms infrastructure provisioning processes. You will be directly helping to implement and influence technology strategies that will give our business a competitive edge.RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIALIntuitively coalesce towards problems with an open mind, within the context of a teamYou have exceptional analytical skills, able to apply knowledge and experience in decision-making to arrive at creative and commercial solutionsYou possess a strong desire to learn and contribute solutions and ideas to a broad teamYou are independent and comfortable in a fast paced, ambiguous and often multi-directional work environmentManage multiple tasks and use sound judgment when prioritizingCollaborate with a globally-distributed cross functional team in building customer-centric productsBuild services to integrate on-premises systems with public cloud providers and software libraries to provide consistent, secure, and ready-to-consume patterns for application development teams using public cloud servicesCollaborate across teams on feature design and problem solvingManage the full lifecycle of software components, from requirements through design, testing, development, release and demisePartner with colleagues from across Technology to ensure an outstanding, useable, and unobtrusive experience for development teams building and deploying their applications and infrastructureHelp to communicate and promote best practices for public cloud application development and infrastructure management across the firm
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FORMinimum 6 years of relevant professional experienceB.S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)In-depth knowledge on writing Java APIsFront-end development experience with knowledge of latest UI technologiesStrong proficiency in: REST API Development, NoSQL databasesExperience building transactional systems and strong understanding of software architectureStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to establish trusted partnerships with product leads, and executive level stakeholdersComfort with agile operating models
Preferred QualificationsExperience with Core Java DevelopmentExperience with Spring and MongoDBExperience with single-page UI technologies such as Angular and ReactExperience with Go is a plus
