The

Manager, Public Relations & Ambassador Marketing

oversees the Public Relations and Ambassador Marketing functions, including their execution across various brand channels such as social, paid, and others for Brother and its subsidiaries. The role manages communication activities, demonstrates strategic thinking, leadership, and creative storytelling in their management approach. In addition, this role oversees development, implementation, and reporting of strategic and tactical B2C and B2B Public Relations and Ambassador related programs. Efficient and effective management of their associated budgets are essential to the function.

The Manager drives planning efforts with alignment from key stakeholders in business and marketing/media to implement and measure programs. Lastly, the role partners with teams and agencies to achieve business objectives and strategic initiatives for Brother and all its business units and subsidiaries.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Public Relations (PR) Management

Create and manage the overall strategy and implementation of PR initiatives, with approval from CXC leadership for Brother and their Business Units

Develop and execute PR strategies on behalf of Brother that enhance its Business Units and company visibility across the PR landscape

Build and maintain media outlet relationships across the printed, digital, and social landscapes

Craft and distribute press releases, arrange interviews, and media train internal teams

Act as internal point person for PR, working with CXC and business units to align on strategies, tactics, and the measurement thereof

Plan and organize press conferences, media briefings, public events, and private events on behalf of Brother. Ensure events align with Brother’s image and branding

Anticipate potential PR issues, develop proactive strategies to manage them

Respond to negative press and comments across PR landscape swiftly to maintain brand reputation

Oversee creation of PR content and its syndication/inclusions including press releases, speeches, public statements and more. Ensure content is consistent with brand voice and messaging

Maintain a strong understanding of media relations and industry dynamics across all PR landscapes and outlets

Provide key insights to CXC teams to evolve campaign relevancy and PR program success

Market to both the B2C and channel audiences in press, and identify the right approaches when communicating to B2B and B2C audiences

Maintain PR placement tracking across all media, digital and social engagements

Collaborate with the social media teams to ensure brand consistency across platforms with regards to PR related content and its execution

Foster engagement and collaboration across CXC and other teams with regards to PR execution and strategy

Manage the cadence of touch-base calls with PR and Ambassador agencies to ensure all deadlines are met, materials are created and approved, and calendars are current

Work collaboratively with PR agencies to create and approve press materials, including press releases, interview preparation documents, and presentation materials for senior management

Ambassador Campaign Implementation and Management

Plan, develop, and implement Ambassador related media campaigns for all product categories

Collaborate with all internal channels to drive Ambassador related content creation and implementation into brand media/marketing channels including SEO impact

Identify and share trends and insights on Ambassador marketing and optimize spend and performance based on the insights and historical performance

Develop and manage workflow and process of Ambassador-centric content from creation to implementation with internal teams using Workfront and other project tracking platforms

Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies with product and marketing cross-functional teams with regards to Ambassador execution that align to BU and Product roadmaps

Provide thought leadership on Ambassador marketing and media best practices and use cases

Collaborate with internal teams, agencies, and other vendor partners to create best in class influencer creative and the implementation thereof to drive engagement and relevant KPIs to measure success

Track content performance by Ambassador and report on impact and lift

Evaluate emerging platforms and technologies for Ambassador content driven marketing and provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate

Reporting & Analytics

Deliver monthly reports detailing performance against key engagement and retention metrics

Utilize social Ambassador tools to define campaign metrics, reporting on KPIs to all brand stakeholders

Measure and report performance of all Ambassador marketing campaigns and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)

Measure and report performance of all PR efforts and their impacts

Deliver post initiative PR analysis reporting on key ten pole moments

Monitor and report on the effectiveness of PR campaigns and strategies. Use insights to make data-driven decisions and improve future PR efforts and share learnings across the organization

ABOUT OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

Education

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, PR, or related field- Required

Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, PR, or related field- Preferred

Experience

Minimum 7 years of experience in a combination of relevant experience spanning the following areas:

Experience managing public relations, Ambassador marketing, and social media strategy/implementation in a corporate or agency organization

Experience managing a budget and a diverse product portfolio

Software/Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of traditional PC and Apple business and creative software suites

Knowledge of Media Tracking Platforms like: Cision, Hubspot or Meltwater Intermediate –

Preferred

Other Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

Strong knowledge of public relations and influencer marketing best practices, strategies, and tactics

Strong knowledge of social media channels, including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.

Strong communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal)

Collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a wide variety of stakeholders to achieve organizational goals

Attention to detail and follow-up ability

Knowledge of Digital PR Tools Prowly, Muck Rack, Prezly or Critical Mention Preferred

Knowledge of the office equipment B2C / B2B markets

ADDITIONAL DETAILS FOR THIS ROLE

This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers.

The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $101,000 - $130,000 per year.

Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data.

This position is eligible to participate in the relevant Brother variable pay incentive plan(s). Applicable bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon 1) achievement of your individual objectives and 2) Brother achieving its corporate and business-level objectives.
