SUMMARY

Accurately, safely and efficiently prepares outgoing shipments for both customers and vendors. Participates in all aspects of packaging, kitting, staging, shipping and receiving by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.Efficiently and accurately prepare & pack completed parts for shipping or staging, to include stacking, packaging, shrink wrap and labelingPrepare and consolidate parts to ship to an outside serviceAccurately, safely and efficiently unloads and/or loads trailers for outbound shipments to meet customer & vendor demandsVerify that parts and/or orders meet quality standards, including reporting any damages or discrepanciesMaintains a consistent high level of accuracy when performing job functionsAdheres to all procedures, work instructions, safety rules, and maintains a clean and orderly work areaAll other duties as assignedQualifications

Requires a minimum of 2 years of production shipping, receiving and inventory control experience (in a manufacturing steel environment preferred)Good problem solving skills and math skillsMust have the ability to learn, understand and apply 5S standards to the inventory areaAbility to read and speak EnglishMust have basic knowledge of the metric & imperial (fraction & decimals) systemsAbility to maneuver up to 200 lbs. independentlyAbility to safely lift 50 lbs. without assistanceRequires a thorough working knowledge of metals (re: types, grades, specifications) within 30 days of independent trainingAbility to read tape measure (English & Metric) and dial/digital calipersEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Requires a minimum of 2 years of production shipping, receiving and inventory control experience. A high school diploma or GED is required.

TRAVEL

Ability to travel out of state for training as needed

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions, information gathered from tape measures, dials, calibrated scales, visual display units. Ability to receive and understand instructions via radio or phone. Ability to summarize verbal instructions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to compute ratios and percentages and to interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Requires analytical knowledge; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Forklift Certification or the ability to obtain certification (requires a valid driver's license)

Crane Certification or the ability to obtain certification
